I think you guys will like this one. 60F weather, fresh tires, and a dialed-in setup made for one very speedy Mustang at Laguna Seca yesterday.

The pass on the 911 GT3 Cup was just icing on the cake :)

Thanks for sharing, excellent driving as usual.

question, what’s the biggest OH Shit moment you’ve ever had with any of your cars, on any track ? One that really stands out... and was it mechanical, driver, or other driver that caused it.

That would be this 120 MPH save at Tremblant:

The front tires went partway off the exit curbing before I got it completely straightened out. Another 2' and I'd be in the dirt and into the wall at speed.

The root cause was driver inexperience coupled with a setup change which made the car more neutral in high-speed corners. There's a dip in the track as you approach the crest at Tremblant, and when you're at the limit going through a dip like that, you need to take a bit of cornering load out so that the car doesn't slide as it rebounds off the springs and unweights the tires. In this video, I kept the steering constant, and since I was already at max cornering load (in an aero car, no less) the rear stepped out. The same thing happens at the exit of the corkscrew at Laguna Seca. If you could watch my hands now, I synchronize them to the car's vertical movements off of the springs in various high-G corners.

Was Randy there this weekend? Sweet vids and driving!

He was - and we had a very fun dice between me in the GT4 and him in a high-aero Guntherwerks 400R on slicks. I think the Gunther guys are going to publish the video from that session, there was only 0.5 secs between us and some great footage.

Wow!!!

How much prep in terms of set up did you do? You need to come to Mosport some time :)

The folks who race the GT4 either run Michelin mediums or Pirelli slicks. I'm running Michelin hards (they last longer) and we ended up going to a lighter front spring to make the car willing to rotate in the slow stuff. Other than that, it's been pretty turnkey. It's a sweet, friendly car to drive.

Do you get support from Multimatic or KohR as well on set up/recomended allignment or do you have someone local for that?

Multimatic provides incredible support. Day, night, weekend, they've got someone oncall to answer questions and troubleshoot. They provided setup suggestions and feedback, and in turn they've learned from what we've been doing with tires.
