Hey guys , hope everyone is healthy. I got a question. Hopefully this guy will be getting back to me soon about purchasing his KB 2.2 , I’m going to send it into Carlos at KB for rebuilding, and I’d like to know what everyone suggests to update my fuel system . Right now i have stock pumps feeding a ported Eaton and a VMP plug and play boost a pump . I’m thinking I’m going to need more fuel. I hear a lot about going return style but I’m trying to keep this relatively simple . What do you all think?

Thank you

A BAP and stock pumps will handle 600 hp. What are your goals? How much boost and do you ever plan on running E85?

If you plan on upping the boost or E85, dont mess with returnless setup, step up to a return system. Do it once and do it right.

I like to do things once, so I recommend going return now. Its an easy install and you'll have more than enough room to grow.

-8 feed/return and some dual 465s will take you a long way.

Can't go wrong with the fore stuff. I've used it exclusively on my return set up cars and the quality is unrivaled.

Just swap in two 255lph Walbro pumps, modified fpdm, and do a wire upgrade to the battery on the bap if you haven't already. If you're staying on 93 that will support whatever that blower is capable of. If you're going to run e85 then upgrade to a -8 fuel line. That setup will support 650-700rwhp on e85. I'm running what I just mentioned, but with a Fore hat, on my stock motor auto Mach with a Vortech and e85 making mid 500rwhp on my race tune. Duty cycle is 75-80%.

I’m staying 93 octane for sure. Just want to do new pumps but while the hat is out would like to upgrade . The only blower I’m going to do is the 2.2

I would go with Fore L1 Kit. Don't bother with the returnless system. SN95 4V L1 Fuel System (dual pump)

Remember, the components in your fuel system are now 17-18 years old. The last thing you want is to run out of fuel and replace the engine. The L1 kit is great and will handle all the fuel you will need with that combo on 93 octane.

If you ever want to go E85, then go with the L1E kit.

Fore is BY FAR the BEST fuel systems on the market. OEM reliability and hands down the best quality.

That is some good advice, thanks -

Since that kit utilizes the oem rails, it would be considered a deadhead setup, is that right?

I am trying to learn as much as I can about fuel systems because it will be the first thing I do, even before putting on a bigger blower. (I'm still on the Eaton.) And like the op, I will always be on 91/93 pump gas.

Correct.

You can be deadhead in any rail setup though.

Just means the reg is before the rails

Correct. It would be a dead head set up feeding the stock rails a constant fuel supply. What's not used is "Returned" back to the fuel tank.

Great plan doing the fuel system first!

KB 2.2 here. 60# injectors, Improved GT dual pumps with old school Fore Industries hat, FPDM mod’d, BAP and stock line (still return less). 606rwhp on 93 and plenty of fuel. It’s all you need. Fuel system is 17 years old but lines dont go bad, you’re replacing the pumps and injectors, so you’re good.
