I have a 65" LED Samsung TV that I purchased about 6-7 years ago that has developed a problem with the screen and it's growing like a fungus so I thought I'd pass along this to you guys and see if this has happened to anyone else, and what my options are to correct it.

I'm thinking this is going to lead to a new TV. Anyway, the problem started about a month ago with a crescent shaped white image on the right side by the edge of the border, then a week ago it started on the left side, now this AM there is another area below the right side initial area that just popped up.

It appears to be affecting the pixels because it disappears when the background image is dark and comes back if the image changes to a lighter background. Anyway if any body knows about this problem is this repairable fairly cheaper than purchasing a new unit. Thanks fellas in advance for any help.

Shit is just cheap. Had a Panasonic tv that died after 4 years, my friend’s Samsung refrigerator died after 5yrs. Sucks I know, sadly these things aren’t meant to last. Hopefully the unplug method works for you.

I’ve been getting Vizio since they came out. Apparently the display is made in the same place as one of the high dollar brands; can’t recall which.

But like mentioned above, you can get a 70” for like $900 now. Just paid 338 for a 55” for the garage.

I wouldn’t waste the money on anything past 1080.

Half the apps I use aren’t even available of all smart TVs so I need a fire stick anyways.

Less than $500 for a Samsung 65 inch LED 4K tv at Best Buy plus other places but with black Friday and cyber Monday coming they should be even less. Excellent time to buy a TV. Just paid off my 75 Samsung 4K LED and have 7 other Samsung tv sizes....lol.....wife would cut my nuts off if I said that I was going out to buy another TV.

I’ve had my LG 4K OLED 56” for about two years and love it. My wife loves her LG LED 4K, too. Prior, we had Samsungs, but we had issues with them.

I also have a 65" Samsung bedroom tv. I would like to get the fungus so I can justify an 85 incher.

If you figure out how you got it let us know

There are lots of possible jokes here. I’m too lazy to make one.

I’ve had a 55” Insignia for about 9 years now that has been nothing but excellent. I’m ready for it to blow up though so I can get a 65”+ Smart TV for the living room.

Picked up a 70” Vizio for the basement a few years back. Also been fine thus far, but it doesn’t get a lot of use. It’s a SmartCast TV so everything is through a phone or device.

My next big Tv will have built in apps. It’s just too convenient to not have one these days.

+2 to @13COBRA ’s idea.

I was going to say something along the lines of:

You're wife is probably looking for something bigger in the bedroom as well... Preferably with no fungus.

As others have said, TV's are dime a dozen anymore and disposable items, as sad as it is. Get one online next weekend. I use Slickdeals.net for searching the best deals with reviews. I've been very happy with my 65" Vizio I got 2 or 3 years ago. The smart function build in suck on all (I have Samsung, LG, and Vizio) and you need a Firestick, Roku, XBOX, or the like to stay up on the latest apps.

Thanks for all the suggestions fellas, I tried the unplugging option and it didn't change so I'm now leaning towards a new TV after the first of the year. Apparently planned obsolescence is still in vogue.

I had a 42" lg that lasted me 15 years. I actually gave it to my brother. still works, just has speaker issues. went with aftermarket speaker set up and all is well. i replaced it with a 55" hisense "smart tv. The picture is phenomenal but its very slow and laggy. often has issues loading apps. Currently has a pop up for an update but will not update. if i go into settings and look for an update, there is none. This is my first smart tv. its convenient having everything in one spot, but not a fan of the issues it brings. i have to often unplug it and remove/redownload some of the apps.
