Got rid of the Scat Pack, lease was up and time for a change.

Car is awesome. Handling is on point, power is there. Huge change going from a beastly Charger to a Mustang, but I'll get used to it in no time.

Super impressed with the PS4s so far. Night and day change over the 245 Goodyears the Charger came with. lol.

I have a NOS kit laying around that I never put on the Charger (glass pistons scared me). Haven't seen much data on spraying 3rd gen 5.0s but may have to give that a shot. Ultimately I'm hoping to add a blower of some flavor in the future.

Looks like decent weather next Wednesday, if so I will hit OSW and make some hits.
SP went 12.38 100% stock, and I'm hoping thats easily surpassed by the GT. If so, yeah, I'll miss the Scat less and less.

Shouldn't be a problem....you guys have great tracks and some good weather in FL. My 2018 went 12.3x 100% stock on a shitty SoCal track in 3500ft DA.

First mod today. Could not stand that eyesore of an overflow tank. Picked up UPRs replacement in black.
Also ditched the engine cover.
Much better IMO.

No loyalty when it comes to going fast on my given budget

Hellcat was the plan but couldn’t make it work. Another SP would have been nice but you have to do pistons/rods to support 600+ and it needs a fuel system past 550 or so.

Had a Z28 for years. Then a 13 ATS, then the Charger. I keep it spread out.

Definitely want to hear your thoughts on the A10 vs the ZF A8.
I like that you’ve sampled them all. Many great cars out there.

A10 vs ZF8...that's a heavy one.

Right off the bat, the A10 just feels busy. Unless you are at a steady cruise, its always doing something.
The ZF8 never felt like a trans with too many gears, and besides not liking to shift below 4th at low speeds, it was pretty well thought out and programmed.

Moderate acceleration in the 10 speed results in really inconsistent shifts with the stock tune. 1-2 may be smooth then 2-3 is super firm, then 3-4 is different again, etc. All with the same throttle input. If you vary throttle input throughout the acceleration run, it gets even weirder. You'll get some weird double shifts and skipped shifts, etc.

The ZF8 never had those issues, always just performed like a traditional auto as far as driver feedback was concerned.

Paddle behavior between the 2 is similar, although I have noticed some pretty heavy delays using the paddles on the 3-4 and 5-6 shifts in the A10, but so far only at part throttle, and i have no interest in paddling at WOT.

And speaking of WOT, clearly that's where the A10 shines. The ZF8 was no slough, and even the factory programming performed really well at WOT, and was even better with some simple tune tweaks. The A10 in stock programming is on point. Shifts are nice and firm and firmer in sport/sport+/track, but I don't love the feel of those dragstrip mode shifts. They'll have to show some improvement at the track for me to believe in them.

Hoping to hit the track Wednesday to see how well the A10 can perform.

On a stock car, drag mode will reduce your ET by 2-3 tenths. Sounds absurd, but its pretty well documented on M6G and anecdotally on my car as well.

Drag mode BANGS gears like crazy and holds them longer.

That all becomes moot though once you tune, e85, turbos etc etc etc LOL

Also can't stand the fact that the Mustang will not display current gear unless in paddle mode.
I had 3 choices of how I wanted to see current gear in the Charger and with 2 more gears to be in, it would be cool to know.

The Ford calibrator told me last week that he thinks he can add it, in the tune, so we shall see.

Randoms...Charger had launch control, but no line lock. Was able to enable line lock using Tazer.
Mustang has Line lock, but no launch control...
The SRT Performance pages seem gimmicky, but I do wish I could see 0-60 and 1/4 mile in the car. Also sucks not having a legit coolant temp gauge (dummy gauge doesn't even have hash marks, just a big 'ol green range)

If you have drag mode, you should have the performace timer too which shows 0-60 and 1/4 mi times.

Only if you grab a paddle, then it will display the current gear, at least from what I have found.

Interesting. Maybe I need to keep digging.
Hmm. I know I'm talking a F-150 with the 10 speed. I have a button to turn the gear display on and off on the shifter.

Yes, the F150 has that whole 1-10 display in the dash and will show current gear, but unless its hiding really good, it doesn't exist in the Mustang.
