I love my XD. It does shoot slightly low and left. The Springfield feels better in my hand, and overall more stable when firing than the S&W. She has small hands so the Slim profile of the Shield works for her. Going with a 9mm might have made it a little less snappy.

yea move out of N.J. if you need PURCHASE PERMISSION. That is a clear violation of your rights. Since when in a suppose free country you need PERMISSION to purchase a legal product.? SAD !

Every state has some form of purchase permission guys! I just tell her I’ve had this gun for a while without informing of the purchase originally. Highly illegal, but seems to work. Lol

I recommend 9mm as well. I have two 9mm pistols and like/love them. I like my S&W Shield but freaking LOVE my HK VP9-SK.

I haven’t shot my VP9SK a lot- maybe 2 magazines have gone through it. I need to take it to the range next time I go - I haven’t really formed an opinion on it other than I like the looks and the feel. It’s been since March since I’ve shot anything. Kinda being cheap with my ammo...

The 9mm hype will go away again... 45 AUTO is going no where. We all know that.

Disagree, 9mm will continue to be the most popular round as unpopular it is with the .45 fanboys. I assure you number of 9mm hangunds sold in comparison to the .45 isn’t like 1/500 or worse. I’m not saying it’s better, just more popular and that I doubt that will ever change.

I didn’t mean it in a way stating that 9mm will be outsold. Obviously, it will sell at a much higher volume than the other semiautomatic pistol rounds. I’m just saying the hype about 9mm being the do-all round will go away. Almost every pistol round circles back around in popularity. 10mm almost checked out for a minute but has resurged in the past few years. Remember the 40 hype? No one wanted a 9mm then.

Cost drives everything, and we all could be wrong if 9mm ammo prices don’t drop.

I think it's me but I hate a 40. Would think it would be a good all purpose being in the middle but something about firing it I would rather have 9mm or .45. I had a 40 S&W M&P and sold it and have 3 9mm M&P's. I was a small arms instructor in the Navy so I think I'll be stuck on 9mm forever. My next weapon will probably be a .45 H&K though because I am so in love with my VP9. I've got about as much if not more into the gun as it was to purchase. I'm a lefty and it's probably the BEST weapon for those of us in our right mind. :)

Get the PPQ 45 instead, you will thank me. The HK 45 is totally overrated. 10 rnd vs. 13 and the HK 45 trigger is trash while the PPQ is divine. Just my opinion but if you want a 45 with a hammer go with a 1911.

I hate everything about NJ. My girlfriend refuses to move
Aw comon! PA isnt too far!

NJ sucks. Murphy sucks worse. thanks for all the gun advice.
Im from NJ too. Moved out to PA 8-9 years ago but all my family still resides in NJ. I like it out here. You could move just across the river and it would be real easy on you.

On that note I would love an H&K USP, or other form of Sig Legion. But just still getting used to things I was carrying a springfield XDM, but that is getting put to the side for a Sig P365 now (pickup today).
And I just built my first AR pistol in 300blk. So trucking along but everything is still entry level stuff compared to everything yall have!

My wife has a Walther and I pretty much hate everything about it especially the disassembly. It’s just the .22 but if it’s any indication I’ll pass. Fun plunked though! Having been eying some 1911’s so I may swing that direction.

Nice M1A I have two, a socom and a National Match. The NM I just had McMillan bed into their woodland camo fiberglass stock. By far my favorite platform, to me there’s nothing like the feel and of wood and steel.
