So the car was being tuned after putting the gen4 2.9 on and after a few pulls a rod with through the block. It was a teksid block and I spent about $10k on the build. Only lasted 4 years and about 10,000 miles. Idk the how much damage is done yet and I’ll post pictures of it when I start to tear things apart. Obviously the block needs replaced, get another teksid or I still have the stock block, which route would you take?

I’d go tekskid again.

Really doubt the block had anything to do with the failure.

Likely just broke the rod.

How much power were you making?

I’m hoping it’s just a rod but that hasn’t been my luck lately lol
It made 775 but he said it was on its way to 800

I'll vote for the 5.3 as well. Had one with an F1A and it made tons of torque. Someday I'll have one with my Whipple.

Nothing wrong with ur block or rods. U detonated. Find a new tuner when u find a new block. I would get another Teksid. The block certainly wasn't the issue.

I am curious as to what tune, fuel, boost, timing, ect was used for the last 10k miles. If we know we.... can offer advice so this don't happen again to you. Also ask your tuner for the log he was taking during the run so you can see af, timing, ect.

I run nothing but e85 for fuel, 24-26lbs of boost, 22 degrees of timing, and Eric Brooks has been my tuner. I’m thinking it’s more the engine builders fault. He has had several modular motors fail over the years. I didn’t know that till after mine was built.

All of that is solid.. Eric knows what he's doing for sure.. Def leaning towards a issue with the bottom end now.
