Used SCT & then tuned locally, or New SCT with emailed custom tune from VMP

Forgive my noobness in advance if there’s an obvious answer to this. What’s better/what would you do? I’m comparing buying a used SCT x4 tuner on EBay and having the car tuned locally by a person who is known to be a cobra god VS buying a new SCT BDX with 1 custom tune from VMP that they provide you based off of their list of mods (from American muscle).. Buying the used X4 and having it tuned locally will be a couple hundred bucks more... curious as to thoughts on if the tune provided by VMP would be as effective as a local/in person tune?

I don't think the BDX plays well with our cars. At least that's what I've read.

I'd always go custom over canned personally. Whether remote or local tuned.

Yes he is correct ^ I sell used SCT tuners and have my own cobra among other things, the BDX tuners do not work with the cobra ECMS for whatever reason, stick with the X4 or even an X3 if you dont care about the live gauges of the X4 as they both work properly on a Cobra.
PS let me know what your looking to spend on whatever tuner on Ebay because if its one of mine I can sell it for less directly on here then I have to sell for on ebay.

Local " custom " hands down.
The only reason to ever use a " canned " " file " tune is if you live someplace where there is no local talent..

I would go with either your local guy / dyno tune, or look up a good known remote tuner. No need to go through a company like American muscle ect.
