Looking at upgrading the stock 10 GT500 pump with the 13/14 model with the HE replacement. I can across these two numbers for the upgraded FORD pump for the 13/14 models. Prices are not the same but I cannot find enough specs to see if there is any difference between these two pumps...like inlet outlet size or something. Anyone know the difference??? plastic versus metal??
Both are listed as replacements for the original 13/14 units.

The DR unit is always higher priced and by about $50. Thanks

It's the same thing. The DR part number is the part counter part number. M part number is sold through Ford Performance, Ford's aftermarket division. It has some other components that may make it even a better price break. I can't explain pricing between the two other than the DR number would be sold through Ford Dealers and the pricing for the aftermarket division is typically cheaper on other components as well.

Thanks! Looking at the pictures I couldn't see any physical difference between them so I'll save some money and order the aftermarket part number.

Yes, as Cat said, it is a reboxed oem Ford part number into a FRPP box, they do the same with the 2013/14 engine fan/shroud assy. a some other items.

If you decide to mount the 2013/14 pump with the oem bracketry in the oem 2013/14 location on the drivers side timing cover, it will fit under under your P/S reservoir and all 2013/14 oem hoses can be used in that location, but it will require a modification of the steel power steering hyd. line that runs through that location. <<It is not a big deal, I had a local hyd. hose shop make a set up that works Great and it makes a nice oem Ford looking install on a 2007-2010 GT500.

The "other option" would be to install a Davies Craig pump that is exactly like your 2010 pump, it even uses the same pump bracket, but instead of the 4.x gpm flow, the D.C. pump will flow at 6.x and compares to the 2013/14 pump in gpm, that is a direct plug-n-play to what you have now........<<I have that info. and comparo pictures also that I can add if you are interested.

I am interested in the Davies Craig....but I am confused with their replacement models...it seems the model version now looks like the 2013 design pump. What is the model number your were referring to and does it still fit the stock mounting brackets for 2010? I plan on probably installing the VMP triple pass cooler. Also what about a bypass? Is it needed for this pump installation?

DC-9105 and DC-9005 are direct PNP replacements for the OEM Bosch pump.

Yes, the newer version Davies Craig does look like, or is similar to the 2013/14 pump. It appears from the quick search that I just did on eBay and Google that the "old style" is virtually gone, I found one on eBay in Australia and the shipping cost is the killer, maybe you could contact the seller and work out better shipping?

The Davies Craig linked below includes a pigtail harness, there was also a different part number that was the pump only. The harness included with this DC is not needed for the GT500 application because the pump connection is a plug-n-play with the GT500 wire harness....

The EBP25 part number has now superceded to the newer style pump, so it makes the search with that part number a little confusing. The 9005 and 9105 part numbers will find the older style pump that is the plug-n-play to for the 2007-2012 GT500. The difference between the 9005 and the 9105 is that one includes a wire harness pigtail and the other is just the pump, the cost difference between the two was about $15 originally, but either are getting hard to find now.

I don't think I will find the 9005 at a reasonable price. Hoerr said they have no more in stock, only the newer style now.

How, or where are you thinking about mounting the 2013/14 pump in your 2007-2012 system?

Haven't thought about it...really wanted the older style to alleviate mounting options, assuming I go with the VMP cooler. Didn't want to have to mess with the PS lines / hoses. Also need to read up to make sure I don't need to install a bypass with the 13/14 pump, since one forum said it is really needed with the larger pump. Not sure why if a larger upper reservoir is used too to cut down on aeration.

The steel P/S pressure runs directly through the middle of the 2013/14 pump bracket, so it has to be modified to go around the pump if that is the location that is chosen. The nice thing about using that location is that everything fits in place and looks like Ford put it there........"Except" that steel P/S pressure line......:(.......but once the mod is in place, it appears to be another Black hose in that area and is not noticed as being a mod, especially with the CAI also covering that area.

I'll have to see if there is a writeup on the relocation of the pump and how to replumb the water hose lines...I suspect I have to order some hose unless VMP supplies it is their kit. Replumbing the PS line ( and I suspect it is probably the high pressure line which can't be modified by backyard mechanic without it leaking) will be the issue since I doubt too many shops in my area can do it. I'd rather just buy a new hose if someone makes such a thing...probably cheaper.

Is there a bypass hose installed for this installation?

On the oem 2013/14 pump location install?.....Yes. That is the only GT500 pump install that has the restricted bypass installed, the restriction toward the reservoir and the free flow around the reservoir/air.

I believe VMP offers a kit to mount the 2013/14 pump on the frame rail ahead of the drivers side wheel/tire area?

Here is the 2013/14 GT500 pump installed with all 2013/14 GT500 hardware and fasteners in my 2008. Note there is plenty of room below the oem 2007-2010 P/S reservoir.....

013.jpg

On the P/S pressure mod that I did, I first marked everything in place with a Sharpie that I envisioned was needed to be modded, then I removed the steel P/S pressure line from the bottom of the pump and from the rack and removed it from my car, then as shown in the picture below I cut the steel line after its bend where it came out of the pump and I had a local hyd. hose shop solder a high pressure threaded fitting onto the end of my original steel line........Then I had that same shop made me a high pressure hyd. hose with a female flared end that would attach to the male end they soldered on the end of my oem line.......

009-2.jpg

Then I had the local hyd. hose shop also solder the same male fitting on the end of the steel line coming from the rack into the engine compartment and once I got my custom hose length correct, I brought it to them and the crimped a female hyd. end on and it was ready to install "around" the 2013/14 pump.

009.jpg

It has been in place for a number of years with no leaks, but I will say that the fitting (male and female) that they installed on the steel line ends and hose ends, as well as the hose itself are rated for PSI well beyond the GT500 P/S system.

.......and here is a picture of the steel P/S pressure line before the mod.......As I said, it is right in the middle of the steel P/S pressure line path......Literally in the middle of the bracket......

007.jpg

Just to keep "correct" parts for my Super Snake, I also bought a new oem P/S pressure line from Ford (while it is available), to keep stored away just in case I sell my car and "correct original" needs to be in place........Then I will have a "Back to stock" sale......

If you decide to go the Davies Craig route, I had bought a 9105 that I ended up not using. Was used for some quick testing (30min or so) and removed.
