Backstory: Was once in the military where I worked in "IT construction" and now I'm a full time student. Was in school before COVID hit.

Long story short, I used to look at what interior designers did in government cubicle farms and schools and thought "Man, all this crap, money, and time wasted to try and make areas more stimulating". Now I sit here eating crow. It was actually worth it.

I sit in my office at my desk going through school online and let me tell you, it sucks. Sure my office has a big window that natural light comes through, but other than that there is a desk and my computer. It has definitely affected my mental well being being cooped up in this place, with minimal human interaction.

Being an adult I recognize the shortfalls of the situation and can try to overcome them. I cannot fathom how this is going to affect children that are still developing.

I'll share my story. I was a state champion in drafting and architectural drawing. I was even offered a full scholarship through Washington Gas, but turned it down. I still love drafting and design, in small projects. I was enlightened of how tedious and boring the field was. My teacher in all his wisdom knew my personality and talked me into taking a part time job for a big contractor that did huge government work. My task was to draw in pencil the type of shelving sections they use in home depot in buildings that were miles long. I literally drew on a 36 inch roll of vellum and rolled up on one and unrolled on the other on a drafting table.

I did pencil for 20 years.

I don’t know, they’re probably dentists or physicians. So I’m going to go out on a limb and say they’re technically smarter. As it looks, this semester is the one that is going to prevent me from going to med school. Trying to teach myself calculus based physics has not been so successful.

Last I checked you probably haven’t buried or blew up your Raptor yet.

Why not do PA school or NP school then? I know its not as glamorous as med school, but its beyond anything i will acheive.

There is some shit I need to work out on the truck. I don’t know if it is tire wear or shitty install procedure on the front springs and rear leafs. But truth be told, I’m averaging like 75mi a month on the truck as I have no reason to go anywhere.

It is a long story. But NP and PA are not what I want to be. Maybe @kirks5oh can give me perspective...maybe.

True, I'm not giving up. But this semester is gonna rock my GPA. I've had 1 B since I started going back to school. This semester is more than likely going to add my first C, I'll retake the class once we go back to in-person. Which is not next semester:mad:

My wifes an NP. She’s one of the smartest people I know.

I’m pretty sure she regrets not doing Med School, but likes the family she has (minus me)
This is not me talking shit about your wife...I spent 15 years in the military getting treated by mostly PA's, with NP's sprinkled in here and there. I am not a fan of either because of. One PA asked me what medicine I thought I neededo_O Really, I want the training that a physician gets

If it helps I just sit in a truck in the desert.

the view sucks out here
I tell my wife all the time that we need to give NM back to Mexico, except for Hatch. She is from Portales and she does not find my joke as funny as I do.

I’d be okay with 95 % of it going to Mexico . And giving the oilfield area to Texas haha

No shit. My wife is from Roswell. We go there often to visit the inlaws.

My daughter just dropped out of Architecture school with straight A's for the very reason you stated. This semester was the start of all the computer drawing. She hated it. She said she just can't sit there in front of a computer all day. She started cosmetology school last week. It was her first passion anyways.

I draft buildings all day from home. Been drafting over 20 years and it has been very good to me.

Lots of money in the makeup world. My wife loves makeup and follows a lot of makeup channels. She also posts a lot of her looks online and is gaining a pretty good following.
