Thanks for the heads up on that. There is a lot to learn about this hobby.

I have little kids at home so I keep everything in a safe with dehumidifier. This hobby is a lot like cars. You can build them, modify, and customize them.

Store ammo in a dry and cool place. A few enthusiasts vacuum storage them.

Purchased some newly manufactured .303 Savage. They're good for 30-50 years.
I also toss in some gel-packs into my ammo cases.

I've got to get some more practice ammo myself. I usually buy (local) from Target Sports USA. They're actually located here in town. ;)

We’re out south of KC metro a little ways. My wife went to WSU and we have friends down that way still, usually make the trip 2-3 times a year.
What part of KS? I'm in Wichita. The range near my house normally has a ton of ammo for sale. Members can get 50 rounds (one box) of 9mm 115gr for $16-17 (no box limit) and non-member paid $24-25 (limited to two boxes). If local, I'm a member to that range. I normally buy 100 to 150 rounds of 9mm and .223 every other week...but between the wife and I we send most of those freedom package senders down the range.

In stock is in stock, so keep chasing the rainbow and you'll find some. Don't be picky. If he gun isn't shit, it'll run anything you throw at it. But having about 1000 rounds back is better. Shoulda bought last year.

Man you’re spitting the truth. I added up my cost of ordering online including shipping and it was more than driving the five minutes literally to my local gun shop and dropping the money in person.

.40 S&W is abundant though, wish I had one to feed

It's funny, I used to subscribe to the theory that you should keep guns in the most popular calibers. Then I went to gun stores in the past few months and the only ammo available has been 10mm and .40SW LOL

I have a .40 but can't even find ammo for that. I shoot mostly 9mm in my handguns and thats damn near impossible to find lol

.40 is more obtainable than 9mm right now. My next pistol is gonna be a 10mm, I find that shit everywhere.

Check your local shops (for all cals)

Went in to local Academy and they had SHELVES full of brass 556, limit 3 box per customer. Price was 10c/rd cheaper than anything I found online and those cheapest prices online were for steel

They had 9mm but they were only selling in two different bundles.

1 had three boxes (two target 1 hollow) + a pistol case
1 had two boxes (1 target 1 hollow) + a tumbler
Prices for bundles were reasonable but limit 1 each bundle per customer

Posts and likes are not mine.

whats normal price for .40? I have 2 full cases right now and I dont even have a .40 anymore. More than willing to let you have it if its legal to ship to your location.

I think I was paying 17-18 bucks a box for the target stuff pre-covid. I'm in NC ammo is legal to be shipped to home addresses here

I learned this lesson after sandy hook. 40 cal was always in stock because of LEO. I have crates of ammo in my garage but will always have a few guns chambered in a weirdo caliber because ammo is always available. 45 GAP is actually on sale at the moment.

Start making your own. Stock availability isn't as big of an issue and it's cheaper to stockpile.

Wish i would have stocked up on ammo as well prior to this fall but I already had enough for at least a few years for all the calibers of firearms that I own.
