They claim it will restore plastic trim color/ luster for 200 washes. Anyone tried it yet?

Buddy of mine did on his Jeep. Looked decent. Don't know what the longevity will be.

My go to trim coatings are CarPro Dlux, 22ple VR1, Adam's ceramic trim coating.

The key to any of these is to have the trim as clean as possible prior to coating. Clean the F outta it with a plastic/rubber cleaner, APC. Then wipe down with a paint prep/IPA wipe to remove any leftover garbage. THEN coat.

Trim I've coated has lasted a year or more...

Hope this helps!

@Morgan Thanks for the tip!

- I just applied Cerakote to my wife’s ’19 Explorer. It’s still ~$20 for a bag of 10 pre-moistened wipes individually wrapped and 2 pairs of vinyl gloves.
- I used 8 of the 10 wipes on the Explorer.
- Since I just applied the coating I can't speak to longevity, but I really like the small wipes.
When they dry up, ya just grab another.
- Pretty easy to control and apply.
- The Cerakote leaves a low gloss, satin finish.
- It "probably" dulls over time as it wears away.
- As Cerakote points out in their video, if you miss the trim and get it on paint/glass/etc, wipe it off immediately.
- It’s also MADE IN USA.

This Explorer is only 2 years old, but you get the idea.

BTW: I started using this Meguiars product on the tires last year and have been pretty pleased.
Right now it's about 50% off on amazon:

I used it on my F150 and was admittedly lazy about it, didn't do a whole lot of cleaning. I think it looks good, it's been on my truck for 2-3 months and usually goes through the auto scratch car wash weekly. I dont have as much plastic on the bumpers as that explorer, I think I used 6 of the 10 doing the exterior.

Once you get to the point you have to kind of press on the wipe to get coating to come out its time to toss it, it won't be on thick enough and will start to look streaky as it dries (I went over it with a fresh wipe and it leveled out fine). I posted before/after pics in the Show us your trucks thread or whatever it is in the pics/vids section

Five months after application of the Cerakote and I'm very satisfied with its look and endurance. Seems to have good adhesion. Best to see it next Spring.
Comparison between surfaces without Cerakote (rocker on Mustang) versus with (black plastic trim on Explorer).

mine has gotten streaky in some places but I blame it on my lack of prep work, Im sure the crap the car wash sprays on it all the time didn't help it stick. Next time around I'll simple green the crap out of everything first.

Been using this product for over a year. It held up well over the winter on the daily.
