Michael, I wouldn't say the 12 Pro/Max Pro is "nothing". It might not be as "new" as many had hoped for, but it's definitely got some good upgrades from the 11. Whether or not it's smart to move from the 11 Pro/Max Pro to the 12 Pro/MaxPro is up to the buyer. Like I said earlier, I'm planning on sticking with my 11 Max Pro. A personal choice.
Yes I'll also keep my 11 Max Pro for now. I also have a XS Max. I keep it in a different spot of the house. It does not have an active sim card so is connected to the WIFI network. However interestingly it will allow you to answer calls meant for the 11 Max Pro. So it is really handy. I use it if I don't have the 11 nearby.

I was excited about the ultra wide angle (UWA) camera that comes with the 11. However I discovered that the quality of interior photos were not that good. UWA exterior photos come out ok. A friend compared photos with the Note and said the quality is a lot better with the Samsung phone. Perhaps the UWA camera has been improved with the 12. That would be one reason for me to upgrade.

I’ve only had two iPhones, the 4s and my current 6s. I think I’ll upgrade to the smaller 12.

I contemplated switching over to iphone from android, but after using my S20 at the 120 hz refresh rate, I think apple made a mistake not going with a higher refresh rate screen.

I did read that Apple has made some lens changes with the 12 which is supposed to improve low-light photography, and allow you to take "night mode" portrait photos. But it's just not enough to move me to upgrade.

Night pic on the 11pro. Mars is the bright star close to the bottom. 12 is supposed to be better but I’m impressed with the 11 pro.

Leaving out earbuds makes sense since they have to be blue tooth, why jack up the price for that?

what are you talking about?? haven’t look too much into the 12, but I’m certain they have not yet done away with the lightning charge port, which is where you plug in the buds using their adapter....

I'm not really an Iphone guy but it looks like my 2 year old Note 9 is starting to crap out, only sends text messages about 50% of the time and I've tried everything I can think to address it. I've been looking at maybe switching to iphone just hate that I bought the galaxy watch last month lol

You’re lucky I got only a couple hours out of my Samsung, and they refused to fix it.

Where as my moms S5 worked for the 5 years she had it. Never missed a beat never needed a new battery.
If you can score a 11Pro for a discount I’d do that unless you have to have 5g.

But 5G isn't available nationwide yet. Some people with 5G phones will still have to wait for it to become available in their area.

I still have my iPhone 6, but I think it needs a new battery. I don’t know if it’s cost effective to replace it or just buy a new phone. If I get a new one, I’m thinking SE as I don’t need anything fancy.

I replaced my iPhone 6 battery not that long ago, it cost $50 at the Apple store.

What exactly will 5G do? I can stream MotoGP on my current 4G phone without any problem. I’m thinking about the new phone, I just don’t know what more internet speed will be useful for when I can already stream live HD video.

Hey Bob, I missed this response. What I was stating was the 12 has nothing the masses were waiting for. The 12 is new and has different form but I see no actual reason to upgrade. Which generally is the reason they come out with new items each year. People were upset with the 11 as it still had the notch, still had 60 screen refresh. Its a year later and it still is missing those items. I find that very interesting.

Michael, your rationale is exactly mine, which is why it would take a lot for me to upgrade from my 11 Max Pro. It will be interesting to see what Apple introduces (upgrades) next year.

5G is/was supposed to be a big leap up in speed from 4G. It's even being advertised as being fast enough to be considered broadband for home internet connectivity. The reality is somewhat mixed though. There are three different 5G standards in the U.S. right now. The highest speed 5G is very fast, but suffers from some significant shortfalls. It's pretty short range (80 - 100 ft from a tower or repeater) and is easily blocked by obstructions. The other 5G standards are longer range, but their speeds are currently either the same as 4g, or only slightly faster. I expect 5G will work out its issues and become more widespread and faster, but I don't expect to see that for another couple of years. There are a few phones that support all three (iPhone 12, latest Samsung 5G phones), but most don't, so your experience will probably be disappointing right now.

I still own the 5s only because it was the only one to fit on my gun belt. But now I see they have brought back the "Little one". Guess ill finally be upgrading.
