Bump. Still looking. Anyone know the best way to buy a car where the owner has a lien on it? Tried to buy 2 black 03s and it's difficult finding the path with the least risk.

I would suggest meeting them at their bank or credit union that has possession of the title so you can get it that day. If a “home” office has it try to have the person coordinate getting it to a local branch for you to receive it the day of purchase. That way you’ll know the loan has been satisfied in full as well.

If buying long distance and having it shipped I don’t know on that. I bought a truck off eBay once and took a risk there having it shipped but it was for a much lower sum than what these cobras go for. Strongly suggest you buying in person at their bank if you can and have that option. Good luck.
