And yeah, she's a fatty but there was almost nobody there to see so I had a blast.

Drove ~900 miles from my home down to my good friend George's place in Georgia. From there we drove to Roebling Road as we had it rented for the day. There was six of us there total. My GT500, George's Porsche GT3, two ZL1's (one a ZLE), and two BMW's. The GT500 may have been the fastest on the straight but after that....I'll put it this way - the ZLE was about 300 lbs less than me (with a better tire, better aero, and the aforementioned leaner chassis). Anyway, it was a great time.

Split screen, George in the passenger seat. Track was still wet from heavy rains before we got there but dried up fairly quickly after we all spent a little time out on it. At some point George jokes "gentle on the brake pedal." We learned two days prior to the event about Ford's recall on the brake pedal pivot which can fail on heavy braking "leading to a loss of primary braking power."

And I captured a bit more than a lap here. I hit a best of 155 mph at the end of the straight. Previously tracked a GT350 there and could only hit 144, and a '17 Camaro SS that hit 141. I may have been able to go faster but that brake pedal pivot failing loomed large in my head.

Why would a race track have a noise level limit ?
They are usually not in a residential area, so who would complain ??

Roebling was built in the 50's and at the time it was surrounded by thickly wooded Georgia pines. Over the years houses were built close in proximity to the track.

Looks like you had your hands full with serious competition even just in fun.
How’d the Shelby like the 98 unleaded?

I don't think any of us paid for fuel at the track. You could exit the track, drive a half mile, and get 93 at a nearby station and come back. On track fuel prices are silly high.

The car deserves them along with about a 300lb weight reduction to make any kind of difference. I need to shift my focus back to the Fox body I was working on and get that project moving again first though.
