Wow ur gas economy mode is a 1000 hp lol. Electric is gonna be hard to beat in the coming future. The instant Torque will just smash everything else gas powered. Obviously they are starting to master the small battery thing.

Eventually the price will come down. I remember when Plasma TV's were $10k for a 40 inch!

I'm just waiting for electric to get cheaper. I see the potential for stupid fast power.

No, it will never have that gas burning awesome sound, but I'm sure everybody was having the same hesitation when flat heads were being replaced by OHV.

I’m really conflicted about electric cars. I hate them and everything they represent, but the potential power and torque is amazing!
I used to be in the same boat, but the more I learn/see/hear about these electric beasts, the more I'm being sold on them. I also have noticed that more and more performance enthusiasts are warming to them. The performance potential is undeniable!

Watching that video and closing my eyes for a moment, I would think I was on a go-kart track driving an electric go-kart. LOL.

Might as well race in a simulator like gran turismo and call it a day. Thats where we are headed with all these electric and self driving cars.

I'm on fence with actual electric cars. But I also look at my rc cars. Back when I first got into it I was all about nitro and thought electric was dumb and slow. But now that I have both its silly how much faster the electrics are. My nitro I thought it was cool as hell if it could do a wheelie but my electric ones its hard to go full throttle without doing a backflip

On friday afternoon they were talking how electrics have basically killed off 6 figure super cars. Aston,Mcclaren, bugatti all on the chopping block if they don't get their act together.

guys, you shouldnt really be considering performance when weighing in about electric cars. you should be more focused on the environmental impact and energy consumption shift and loads created elsewhere in the energy grip, fuel vs electricity. anyone with a few brain cells can see the low speed acceleration potential of EVs, other things need to be addressed.

this country isnt prepared for a mass shift to electric vehicles. taxes will be created to deal with it that will drive electricity prices up for everyone, EV or not. Cali already has problems with electricity, what will happen in the next decade without MAJOR infrastructure? upgrades?

Honestly we're due for a major infrastructure change. Problem with having things first is its often pieced together.

perhaps youre right. seems very human to create a demand deficit first and then address it after its too late to prevent a disaster.

we need bridges, water, and electricity to be addressed desperately.

It is, this is one place I think Trump flubbed on. I thought he said he was the construction guy and promised big public projects. Granted I get govt is so broken they'd never let him have it. Blows my mind the countries that have better internet, power grids, roads, etc. We're still patching shit together left over from many decades ago.

We're fittin to go nuclear.. it's the only way and the newer gen reactors will do us perfectly. Just gotta rename it a little and change the stigma.

Yep. ITER should go online within 2 years and will be the model for all large fusion reactors.

Thorium salt reactors are also a great fission reactor that can reduce build costs until the ITER tokamak can be replicated in the partner countries.

You mean the stigma of an “accident” leaving hundreds of square miles unusable for hundreds of years? Ask the former PM of Japan what he thinks of nuclear power.
