I know a lot of people that are not married or do not have children, nor even any extended family. One with millions of dollars with no family that plans on giving nearly all of it to charities and all of them seem like they suck.

I’m thinking about starting my own charity and if I could establish it as truly helping young people succeed (instead of public education dumb down), what proportion of a sample population would be willing to donate?

no idea, need to put something in writing I guess. It's just me, if I kicked before my parents it's not like either needs the money, it'd probably get wasted on dumb shit. At this point I'd probably divide it up to things like St. Judes. Maybe a few bucks to a couple of other family members.

Not much as I never married. And only one of my parents is alive, so I turned what ever I might still own to a family friends daughter and her family as long as they bury me under a John Doe so as to just disappear from the world and be forgotten about.

Burn me in the Cobra with all my treasures so it will serve me in the afterlife.

To stop the government from getting any of it.

you can now give up to $15,000 annually to family members tax free as a gift.

back in the 90’s it was $10,000

my grandfather started giving each grandchild, there are 13 of us, $10,000 each Christmas. Did this for 6 years before he passed.

I remember him saying that final Christmas “I just screwed Uncle Sam out of $780,000 !” with a huge grin on his face.

OP, check out Mike Rowe Works Foundation. This may be something you want to support.

A good mindset, but we’re losing high paying jobs like doctors to foreigners. Our kids are their receptionists, nurse assistants and maintain their buildings and land.

Maybe so, but 15 years of school is not for everyone. Plus, for every one MD, we need probably 20 skilled workers. Just because one doesn't become a doctor, doesn't mean they're destined to be a peasant.

I'm not saying American born citizens shouldn't strive to be whatever they want. But realistically, not many have the brains, desire, or finances to go through med school.

A childhood friend is an anesthesiologist. Don't get me wrong, he's now making great money, but we graduated in 2005 (he was 2nd in our class of 88). I bet he was nearly $400,000 in debt coming out of school, if not more.

Our valedictorian was a genius, but had no desire to be a doc. He's now an accountant.

At this point I'm rambling, but skilled trades is where the real shortage of labor is and will be. Not high-end paying medical doctors.
