Truck Based SUV vs Crossover

I'm currently shopping for a 3rd row SUV to handle the family and dogs. Im eyeing the Traverse, Tahoe, Expedition, and Explorer...
Mainly looking at the big 3 and what they offer. The biggest question I have is, are the crossover vehicles like the Traverse or Exploder as likely to last as their truck based counterparts?
I'd like to get 12+ years out of it to justify the cost. I've never really had a crossover, but the truck based SUVs seem to be time tested, regularly exceeding 200k miles.
Does anyone have any experience or thoughts?
Realistically it will haul the family most days. I do like the higher towing capacity on the Tahoe, but I don't tow much. We do have a small gentleman's farm, but shouldn't need to tow anything too heavy... Even my tractor only weighs about 1500 lbs, with a trailer if would still be under the Traverse tow rating of 5k.
Mostly, I want a larger and reliable family mover with some towing capacity and longevity.

Budget?

We have an expedition for the kids hauler and like it a lot.
The new Tahoes look nice though. Maybe would of looked at them more if we were buying this year.

We had an explorer sport a few years back, but the wife doesn't want to downsize once getting her expedition. The additional space is nice.

How many kids? If 2+ I would skip the base Tahoe and go for the XL or Suburban. The extra cargo space is well worth it for the amount of junk you end up hauling around. Are you looking new or used? The 2021’s look pretty nice but you could save a few bucks getting a used last gen and have 95% of the features.

I agree with the Tahoe recommendations. But as far as a Crossover vs. a larger truck based SUV, you're probably going to definitely want the later for the long haul. They're reliable and you'll love the extra space and cargo capability.

May not be big enough for you but look at the 4Runner too. Mine is old (2006) but one of the best engineered vehicles I've ever seen.

We have an 2013 Explorer FWD with the 3rd row option. We use the 3rd row maybe 5 times a year but if you are you really downsize the space in the back for, say, 2 large dogs (I’m using my German Shepherds as an example). Plenty of of room for 3 large dogs if only using two rows of seating. So far in the 7 years of ownership we’ve had no major problems and we’re at 114k miles. The only thing I’ve towed was a I think a 10’ trailer full of hay. I don’t know if I’d trust towing anything over 6k lbs with the fwd. We love it but it kinda sounds like an Expedition would suite your needs better.

I would look at a Toyota Sequoia if long term reliability in the main point. If more space is needed look for a suburban with the 6.2l 10 speed combo.

Well, I've been looking at Nissan Armada's due to the pricing points for used vehicles. I've got nearly 200K on our Nissan van with the 5.6 and hasn't missed a beat. So I figure the SUV has to be good for that amount as well.

Anything to look out for with the sequoia? What is their weak spot? They seem to be priced higher than tahoe/yukon's right now from what I see.
