Nice build! A nice Regatta Blue is definitely hard to come by.

I would definitely go for the "stock" tailpipe look, whether is 2.5 or 3 inch. They set the car off IMO, I've had many foxes and would spend hours polishing them lol.

Personally I would do flow master 3" tail pipes. no fitment issues with tires and looks great. Also consider Dynomax race bullet mufflers, to me they sound great.

I actually ordered the Pypes 3 inch tail pipes. I like how the whole pipe is polished. I haven't gotten a chance to install them yet but I'll report back when I do.

I was going to order a magnaflow cat back for my fox too but you're right I don't like how the tailpipe looks. Definitely post the spin tech please.
Ya I am pretty disappointed. Talk about a waste of money! Hopefully I can sell them. Lol

Just looked up spintech but they're kits offer no tailpipes
Ya I bought just the mufflers from spintech. I actually called them and they made me a 3 inch setup and ill pair them with 3 inch Pypes tailpipes.

Pypes violators midpipe back looks and sounds good. Thinking about getting that for my fox vert with bbk longtubes and x.
Well I have a pypes violator cat back I took off just sitting around if you'd be interested. Pretty good shape just needs to be cleaned up.

Nice build! A nice Regatta Blue is definitely hard to come by.

Thank you! Took me quite a while to find it. I agree about the stock looking tailpipes. The Pypes tailpipes have that look to them so I am hoping they look better.

I'm not happy with how it fits and look. I feel like the exhaust tips are to big and I don't like how you can see the raw pipe and clamp from the side of the car. As far as the fit it keeps rubbing on the right rear tire. It is super tight between the gas tank and tire. I'll post a video once I get the Spintechs on!

My Dad has a 14 Grabber blue GT500. Love that car!! Maybe you should just show up with a foxbody and go with the forgiveness over permission approach. Lol
I can see why you're wanting to change the exhaust. I think the pipe extend out too far as well. Awesome build project you have going there.

Quick update. Haven't had much time to work on the 85 these last few weeks. Currently in the process of installing the contour fan. Previous fan was a single E fan that was wired directly to key on power. Finally got all my parts for the exhaust. The 3 inch Pypes tail pipes look really nice so hopefully they fit nice. Also, took some pics to better show why I am wanting to paint the car. I already have a 2.5 cowl hood but the roof has some dents and paint missing. I'd rather just paint the whole car and convert to Base coat, Clear coat rather then mess with the old single stage paint.

Haven't updated in a while. The car has been at my work so I've been getting a few small things done here and there. I have a buddy who is a PDR guy he worked over the car and took out a few minor dents around the car. My main concern was the roof, looked like someone sat on it but he pushed it out and it looks perfect. I also had the window tint redone. Scraped all the old peeling tint off and ended up doing 20% on the whole car. Next I did a power steering pump relocate. The previous was missing the bracket that goes from the water pump to the housing the pump bolts into. Also, the bracket that bolts to the head was cracked so it really only had one bolt holding on the pump. I ended up switching carburetors, I found a good deal on a used Holley 650 cfm double pumper. I also finished up the exhaust, kept the shorty headers into a off road X pipe then into the 3 inch Spintech 6000's with Pypes tailpipes. I am much happier with the fit, finish and sound as compared to the Magnaflow. I added a Mach 1 chin spoiler, I love the look of it but the aftermarket part isn't going to work for me. After the car is painted I'll spend the money and buy an OEM. Last thing is I finished up the contour fans. Much better than the existing fan set up and the coolant temp hangs right where it should. I have a set of lowering springs and some staggered rear wheels sitting in the box. I just need to roll the rear fenders first. That will be the next step in the project.
