Everyone seems to make a great case about both vehicles in question, only my opinion but I absolutely love my 03, I have tons of friends anywhere from foxbody to GT 500. They're all awesome but the Terminator is just a wicked little b**ch, you can drive it like its just a Sunday cruise but kick it in the a$$ if needed and its like a race horse at the gate just waiting to go and let loose.

I like the 350 (haven't driven one) but I LOVE the Terminator. The noise and rawness is what I'm after but I just go cruising in it. No track duty.

Perhaps a dumb question but do the '19+ GT-350s have oiling concerns like I've read about earlier years? Maybe something to consider?

Good luck either way OP. Post pics of the new ride when you're done.

less than 1% of all GT350s have issues. And yes 19s and up have also have seen failures. Check your oil and you will be fine. Actually I read that the 16s have the least amount of oil issues.

As much as I love my Cobra, if I had the budget, and a chance to get that black 350, it would be no decision for me personally. I’m Whippled and running 18psi, so my car is plenty fast, but these days I find myself enjoying some of the newer tech stuff like that 350 has. As others have said, if you miss the blower, Whipple that. Would I miss this car? Absolutely! But, at the end of the day, that new 350 is well... NEW, and there’s something to be said for having a warranty, especially in your situation possibly buying someone else’s problems. If it was a car you already owned, or knew the absolute history of, that would be different.

I sold my 04 CO 'vert a few months back and now have a 19 GT350 in Orange Fury. There really is no comparison. The 350 does everything my Terminator did better. Now mine wasn't a heavily nodded beast either.

The 350 is so much fun on twisty roads that I enjoy far more than stoplight contests. It has a ton of tech too. Basically it can be a sedate daily driver if you need that but, when prodded, is a beast on the track. I just did the GT350 Track Attack last week and the limits of the 350 are crazy more than I will get to but I'm ok with that.

Now all that being said a black 350 would be a LOT of work to maintain the finish but when clean, oh my, beautiful!

Why are you looking for a different ride? What do you want it to do? These are the questions you must answer, and then the right choice will be obvious.

I loved my Terminator, but it just wasn't the car I wanted anymore. I sold it and bought a RS5 instead of a GT350. The RS5 is an amazing car. 8500 rpm redline out of a small V8 and all wheel drive. Jekyll when you want, Hyde when you need it. Scratches all my car itches except for the lack of a manual (so close, Audi!). It even drops jaws of men AND WOMEN, old and young. I've received so many "that is the sexiest car I've ever seen" comments from men and women; more so than any other car I've owned. It's a good looking car.

But, it can be spendy to maintain, mods are limited, and it's not the best track car (but really pretty damn good) due to where the engine is and the resultant understeer. But on the road the understeer isn't noticable due to the magical Sport Rear Differential and the difficulty of finding a safe place to perform 4 wheel drifts at speed around corners.

I have 2 convertible Mustangs (66 and 08) and a '15 SHO, and the Kraut car is on an entirely different level of luxury muscle.

GT350 > 03 04 cobra. Throw a whipple on it and the cobra is over. Heck, I will take 10 speed coyote over an 03 cobra. I know the cobra is limited, I know the history of the car I get it. Better ride, better motor, better supercharger kits than the 03 cobras, its a combination of things that make the newer mustangs better. coyotes are trapping 170+mph with a twnscrew. Easier to make power. The terminator wont touch that. shots fired! lol. damn I am anti terminator now lol. maybe its time to sell!
I really want to do a coyote swap with a 10 spd in my 90 coupe. It has a irs that might have to go though...

Tough call - depends on what your after. The 350 is an awesome all around car - technology, handling, sound.
03/04 Cobra still my favorite body style - raw muscle car performance. If I had to get rid of one the 350R would probably go - might have a change of mind if I had a whipple/turbos on it

what type of lift is that? Never saw one like that. I have a drive on 4 post type, but when I saw your pic, there are no posts in the foreground. Looks cantilevered from one side, is that correct?

Emotions out of it the GT350 is awesome. But the 03/04 Cobra will always be thought of fondly. Drive on a ford lot and I bet you get more looks in a Cobra than the 350. When I would bring mine around the dealership everyone fawned over it cause they aren’t too many around here. I see more 350s than I do Cobras.

Agree.... I always get a thumbs up when I am driving my 2004 and they all come take a look at it when I am at the dealer as well picking up my F150..

I guess you got rid of all your Cobra's for a reason. It just blows my mind that car and Mustangs have gotten so expensive.

Crazy how it worked out, but long story short ended up with a 17 GT350 with Recaros and tech package 10k miles.

What a car! From the handling, to the high revs, it’s exhilarating to drive. Yes, it definitely lacks on the low end, but boy does it make up for it after 3-4K rpm. It’s almost unbelievable how long this car pulls. On top of it all, it’s comfortable. Drove it 5 hours home and enjoyed it. I could never drive that far in the terminators without a chiropractor or medication.

With all that said, I miss my 03/04 cobras. I’m actually on the hunt for a driver quality one now. I miss that exhaust note and whine. Nothing replaces that.

Appreciate the responses and happy with my purchase.

PS. When I called back on the 19 GT350 the price went up to 59k. (Sticker around 64/65k) Still a good deal but didn’t want to go that high. If anyone is interested I can forward you that dealer info. It is in WV.

Congratulations! Make sure you back into your parking spots! Chin spoilers aren’t cheap on the 350, like $600. For the R, $1200

Great choice!
I still may be interested in the black '19 if you wouldn't mind forwarding me the info.
Thanks
Ken
