I took my car to a shop yesterday for some body work. I bought the car in 2016 with some damage and just now getting around to getting it fixed.
Anyway, that big chunk of plastic under the engine was pretty much gone, the plastic on the wheel well on the passengers side was half gone and the cable that goes from the windshield washer resivour (sp?) had broke off so I zipped tied it up. In fact, I had lots of plastic zipped tied under the car so it was finally time to get it fixed.
I picked the car up but didn't have time to look at it, so hopefully this afternoon I'll be able to. Anyway, he said the rim was bent on the front passenger side. He also said it looks like the car had hit something (I don't believe that was in the carfax). So I'm guessing someone did some home repairs or whatever. He said that's probably why the mirror vibrates and the car does seem to have some vibration, especially at speed (80+). I haven't take it about 100 because I haven't trusted it.

Anyway, can wheels be fixed or should I buy 4 more wheels?
For those who know me, at least on this site, know this car has been on the chopping block, aka, trade block for a couple years now.
That Roush supercharged Mustang GT is still on that lot, I could always trade for it. But after trade in I'd be financing $17K MOL.
I'm fairly certain I can address all the issues my 2013 has for less that that.

Opinions/suggestions, on car, wheels, etc.

You know that car better than anyone else here, so you have to decide which direction is best for you. What's your patience/time level at this point? You're going to have to start with the wheel. Unless those wheels are upper level aftermarket wheels, you're probably better off buying new wheels and be done with it. It the vibration is solely related to the bent wheel, then at least THAT issue would be gone. But you also said you're "fairly certain" you can address the other issues for less than it would cost to trade for the Roush Mustang GT. Is there a possibility the cost could end up nearly equalling your cost trading up for the Roush?

While you can have a rim repaired I would opt to purchase a new one. Unless you have some custom wheels that cost a lot of money.... if thats the case then have it repaired.

I do not know your financial situation so i cannot comment if financing another car is a good move. If you are considering trading it in based on the above issues I would not advise that. Sounds like the majority of the repairs are done and all it needs is a new rim. A 200 dollar rim (estimated cost) sounds way better than a 17k dollar loan.

The wheels are RTR's. They look pretty cool but do have some road rash. I made a few mistakes when I bought the car back in 2016, first, I looked at it in the late evening so it was starting to get dark, second, my wife loved it so she wanted it that night, I told her lets sleep on it but she insisted so we bought it.
Anyway, I've had it since 2016, put 7K miles on it. The money isn't an issue to get stuff fixed, it just mostly sits in my building so sometimes I actually forget about it. But I got the "Bug" again so I wanted to get it fixed up and start driving it.
I'll probably see if it can be fixed, I haven't checked but I'm guessing RTR wheels aren't cheap.
I like cars but don't have time right now to work on them, that's why I take it places to get it looked at/fixed. That's also why I think about trading it, for a turn key ready car.

I am sorry to hear about that, never fun having something bad happen to your car. I wouldn't call RTR wheels expensive. I don't think they make a wheel priced over $320 per, so that is good news in getting the bent wheel fixed. I know you were posting about SC kits for your stang, and this could be a good time to invest in a wider wheel to help accommodate a more traction friendly tire if you are going SC of course.

As far as going SC for your current car vs buying a car already boosted, that is your call. You know the status of your car and your life better than us. I am not trying to sway you either way, just playing a little devil's advocate here. If you are taking your car to get looked at/fixed, nothing wrong with that btw, then what is the difference in buying a kit when you will have a shop address the tuning and install for you? The maintenance future maintenance would be address the same regardless of option. From what I can tell the only difference is time (waiting a few weeks vs now) and buying the kit (which you will be putting that money forward anyways in swapping to a car already boosted). If buying that 17 GT SC or a 13/14 GT500 is what would make you happier than SC'ing your current car then go for it! There is no right or wrong answer as long as you're happy and don't put yourself in a bad financial spot, oh and have the ladies approval of course lol.

I totally understand where you are and how you got there. You might be able to get the bent wheel fixed, depending on how bad it is. And then maybe get them all freshened, if the cost would be sufficiently less then replacing them.

Curious. Does you wife ever drive it? I ask because you said she really wanted the car.

Can you post one or two photos of it?

Here are some pictures of it. My wife drives it, but not a whole lot. It's been from Oklahoma to Louisiana and back probably 3-4 times, that's where most of the miles we've put on it have come from. She drove it down to visit family.
