I know all 2020 Ford's are equipped this way, across the board. Some 2019's. Haven't researched the lineup for prior years.

My advice to those the registered for the Ford Pass app....use the points they swindled you with to get a free oil filter or whatever shit they are peddling for your soul. Then call Ford to unregister. Make it clear that you no longer give them permission to monitor your lifestyle or driving habits in any way, shape or form. Do a master reset through your SYNC. You just might want to pull the fuse to the TCM as well...

So if I have a 2019 and the ford app this is happening??? I guess im in the same situation in that my dealer set everything up for me and I just said "ok" like a dumbass. I am very against meta-data collection unless explicitly and undoubtedly authorize.

Hasnt the ford app been around for a few years now, pretty sure a coworker with a 2017 said if he got an 18 he would be able to start his car with his phone.

*Edit*
I cant see all the software modules reporting like TOB does on ETIS, does this mean Im ok???

How long to get the points? It’s been 7 days, 5 days since registered. No points yet.

Sorry, I can't answer that. I never agreed to any of this from Ford. I already spoke to them about it to voice my displeasure with the program and how it is getting used.

"Auto maker Ford recently launched a smart phone app that connects to its Ford SYNC App Link platform which gives consumers the option to share driving data and have their behavior rated by participating insurance providers. A higher score reflects better driving behavior."
Ford offers app that provides insurance discounts for good driving

**** this bullshit. Once normalized, insurance lobbyists will push for legislation that in essence, mandates the forwarding of certain driving data so that they can weed out "bad drivers."

This is where we are going.. the powers have decided.
Cars will communicate not only to govt/prvt co's... but also with each other.

Give it 20 years.. you won't be aloud to drive your vintage cars on public roads... too much of a risk to the hive network of vehicles. That was ubers whole deal..they were just a data/tech co. Collecting routes and traffic flows.

Maybe try africa or cuba??

A couple of autonomous vehicles will plow into stopped school buses and that will be that for autonomous vehicles.

Nope, just the opposite. That means, they need a lot more public money to stop reoccurrence.

They can't keep pot holes fixed, I just don't see the money nationwide for setting up roads for autonomous.

I wonder if a "mod" could be made to send data that covered for spirited driving. It always seems if someone makes a lock someone else finds a way to pick it.

I'm sure there's a way to disable that module, or change the broadcast/update system. Of course that might negatively impact any other OTA features you may use. But the ME side of me says "just remove the antenna" based on the systems I'm familiar with. That will definitely lose your other OTA features but...I don't care about those.

When all else fails, in the words of Bart Simpson- "Smashy smashy."

Does the autonomous car recognize potholes? If so what if they’re filled with water?
What about the affect on the power grid?
Are the chargers going to be solar powered to ease the burden?
How are we disposing of the batteries?
When are they coming out with a solar powered Car that weighs 2700 lbs and has 600 awd HP? ( at the tires of course)
Don’t forget when SkyNet becomes self aware, when you’re speeding you’ll be issued a ticket electronically and the funds removed from your checking/ savings account before you reach your destination

It is truly ironic.

CA has had several requests to all residents to turn off everything after 3pm to conserve electricity.

How exactly are we going to power these cars?

I know! More coal fired power plants!
