I have owned four terminators. I am supposed to be buying a CO cobra Tuesday, but found some history of the car I’m not real fond of. On the turn side, a dealer right down the road from me has a left over 19 GT350 that he offered to me at 56k cash (sticker is 64k).

I’m really on the fence because I love the terminators, but on the flip side the 350 has a ton of tech, warranty, I would be first owner, comfort, etc. etc.

Of course it’s more money, but still a good deal imo.

Anyone go from terminator to 350 or vice versa? What’s your thoughts?

Emotions out of it the GT350 is awesome. But the 03/04 Cobra will always be thought of fondly. Drive on a ford lot and I bet you get more looks in a Cobra than the 350. When I would bring mine around the dealership everyone fawned over it cause they aren’t too many around here. I see more 350s than I do Cobras.

I've read from other members on here that you will miss that low end torque. 2 different beasts though. That CO looks real nice in the picture, as long as everything checks out and engine is in great shape, keep the car forever and you have no reason to worry about its prior life.
Was the CO in a wreck or engine problems?

The GT350 is the car that Almost was...... If they had given it a blower like the Cobra or the GT500 then yes GT350 but considering my 2016 VW Golf R which is my DD smokes a new GT350 with just a tune id say the GT350 is nothing but a novelty!

What’s the sketchy history with the CO? I’d drive the GT350 would love to have a ride in one I think they look sweet but you really have to get the RPMS up from what I hear.

If you're good with the rawness (all around) of the Terminator, go for it. If you'd prefer superior engineering, that sweet FPC motor revving to 8,250 rpms, better handling, better seats, better audio/info system, then you should seriously think about going with the GT350. If the choice was mine to make, it would be the GT350. I just wouldn't want to deal with a 16+ year old car. That's not a knock against anyone who prefers the '03-'04 Cobra, just my personal choice for the reasons above.

That said, if you seriously consider springing for the GT-350, do you really want black when you seem to prefer a color (Competition Orange)? And definitely test drive the black one at the dealership.

Whatever your choice is, if you've checked it out thoroughly and are 100% satisfied with what you're seeing/hearing, then you should be happy going forward. You mentioned learning some history on the Cobra that you're not happy with. So that has to be a consideration. Like you said, the Cobra is used and has miles on it (and it's 16+ years old). The GT350 is new and has a warranty.

That right there is what took the GT350 out of the equation for me. As someone who owns a black car I will never own another black car. It is beautiful when clean, but it shows everything. Black is not a color, it's a job. I'm too old to be playing with black anymore.

So, on that note alone I say get the CO Terminator. They are ALWAYS in high demand and your money should appreciate with that purchase.

I have owned both at the same time. 4 Terminators and 2 R’s actually. The 350 is a bigger car, light years more refined, handles, stops, and sounds amazing. 8250 redline is insanity. Trans is the best I’ve driven. Car is a dog until 5k rpm, its not going to break your neck but the damn car just keeps pulling.

I love the 03-04. Looks wise it’s timeless, torque is incredible, supercharger whine is fantastic.

but taking nostalgia out of it, it really is hard to drive a car almost 20 years old once you have stepped up to the new platform.

With that said all of my Terminators are sold and I don’t think I will look back.

What will you do with the car? Putz around town, occasional stoplight rip, car show...? I batted around selling the Cobra for a 350, but I knew I'd never get close to using the car's potential. Awesome brakes, handling, gizmos...that would mostly go to waste. Not saying you gotta beat the snot out of everything, but at least with the Cobra you can step into her for a couple gears and let her do what she was built to do. My two cents anyway

I went from a 350 to a terminator. Two totally different cars. I loved the refinement of 350... but it just left me with wanting more. I’m a mod guy, so I wanted an all out beast built for it. The terminator is legendary and I had wanted one for years. So I pulled the trigger and now I have a 701rwhp monster. Don’t regret it at all.

Yea. Had a minor accident on drivers side.
