So if you noticed my last thread earlier this year, I bought a 2020 Harley Davidson Fat Bob. I love the bike! Lots of power, handles great, looks killer. As I have ridden throughout the summer, I have found myself wishing I had certain things such as storage, a bigger gas, tank, a more comfortable ride. So I decided that I would start shopping for a touring model. I was set on a Harley Road Glide...until I test drove the new Indian Challenger. Oh my goodness guys, let me tell you. The new Indian Challenger is retarded. The Road Glide isn't even in the same genre at this point. This is coming from someone who wanted the Road Glide to be the superior bike, but can't justify it. They were pretty much the same price, so choosing based on that wasn't an issue. From all the amenities, the engine, the handling, its a no brainer. So here she is, my new 2020 Indian Challenger Dark Horse.

I love those new Challengers. Based on reviews I've seen I think you made the right choice. Congrats.

Sorry but wtf is with that front headlight cover? And the headlights themselves? Looks like they're off an F150...
Same goes for the Harley Road Glide...

I know nothing about bikes, but it looks great. You're more than happy with it, so that's a plus plus! So you're keeping your Harley Fat Bob?

I'm opposite, I demoed a couple of indian models last year at bike week and couldn't find anything I liked better about them over the comparable Harley, except for the adjustable windshield I thought was neat. Other than that they just felt cheaper/plastic to me. But I didn't do a side by side comparison or anything.

But of course that's just my opinion, you ride what you like, nothing wrong with that. Competition is a good thing and something that Harley was missing until Indian came back. I've heard those challengers have great power, something harley is still lacking unless you shell out an extra 10 grand for the 131 kit. I still think they should have done a reworked version of the V-Rod motor in a touring platform.

Anyways, congrats on the new bike I'm sure you will enjoy it!

Yesterday was my first time ever riding a bagger, and I rode them both lol. I’ll be honest, I wanted the Harley to be the better bike because well, I have all sorts of Harley gear, a cam to go in a 114, just made sense. But riding them both, choice was easy for me. I personally felt the Harley felt cheap. Go check out a few videos on them doing comparisons to the road glide. It’s pretty wild how good Indian did with this one.

Very nice I was just reading about these the other day. If I was buying new I would definitely look at an Indian. How is the power and sound?

I've owned HD's since 2001. Still have my first one, an 01 FXDL. I also had a 2010 HD Electra Glide Ultra Limited. Traded that for a 2018 HD Road Glide. The RG is a nice bike, handles better than the Ultra, takes the wind and big trucks better on the highway. It's a lowered bike from the factory, so the suspension sucks! I recently bought a 2020 BMW 1250 GS. Totally different riding style, but the BMW can do OFF/On road riding. That opens up a whole world of new riding possibilities. Suspension on the BMW is on another level when compared to the HD's and Indian's. I'm now considering trading the Road Glide for a BMW Touring bike. Better Suspension, better rider position ergonomics, and the motor is an inline 6 that sounds like an Indy car. Now I got to figure out what I'm gonna do with all my Harley T-Shirts? The Indian front end just doesn't appeal to me, I don't care for all the side plastic either.

-Satch,

The GS is a great bike. I always liked them. But that K, oof! God that's one ugly motorcycle. I get it it is the cat's ass, but it's like dating an ugly fat girl, sure she gives you the best BJ you ever had, buys you dinner, rubs your back but you sure don't want to show her off to your friends or look at her. If you get one I suggest using those Harley shirts to cover it up so you don't have to look at it. Btw who is your dealer? I used to deal with Hermy's in Port Clinton back in the day.

The BMW front end is a Love or Hate thing, I get that... I love the looks of my RG and color better. I'll more than likely just add some Progressive Shocks and the Monotubes to the front forks (did this on my Ultra, and the suspension was worlds BETTER) and keep the RG. They didn't wanna give me shit for a trade for the BMW K anyways.
I bought my BMW at Hermeys. Great dealer. Knowledgeable NO BULL sales guy too! Traded a Yamaha MT-10 for the GS. My Old back wasn't liking that hunched over posture any more. I'm really liking the GS alot. I like the dirt road riding as well. Gets me away from all the COVID infected people.

My buddies all dumped their air and went with progressives and say it's night and day.

I'm liking the new Indians a lot, especially the FTR 1200. I've always liked the old 1940s Scouts too which they made a reproduction of.

Just ordered this custom seat from Corbin. I think the colors are perfect.
