After having a 600 lb steel beam dropped on me and destroying my back I gave up on riding forever. Well that and the amount of idiots on the road also played a part.
But recently my son has been talking about learning how to ride and it reignited the desire to get back on 2 wheels.

I started out looking at early Twin Cam Dyna's. Then the wife said she wants to go with me so I started looking at Softails and then she said she pay for it but wanted to be comfortable. So I looked my wife's ass & I started looking at Road Glide's and Electra Glide's.

I almost bought a nice 2013 Road Glide but it turned out the floor board was bent and they couldn't fix it until after Labor Day. Being a man of little patience I took this home instead. A 2014 Ultra Limited. It had the Nav, bluetooth, upgraded sound system and some other stuff. Yeah it's an old man's bike but I'm an old man

I gotta say the 40 mile ride home was a bit nerve racking. The last time I rode was 10 years ago on my Triumph Speed Triple that was a bit over 400lb wet. This girl is 900lb+ wet. But I absolutely love it so far. I put almost 400 miles on it since Friday, most of them 2 up which it handles well, especially after I figured out the right psi on the shocks.

I don't have any mods planned for it yet. I just want to get some more seat time as I'm still a little wobbly on my lines. But it seems to be all coming back to me in time and every mile gets a little smoother and more precise.

The last pic has the Road Glide in the background and you can see the floor board is bent down.

Nice bike man, not much on 2 wheels can compete with the comfort of an ultra. I made the mistake a couple years back of putting my wife on one at a demo event and now she swears that will be my next bike. Super comfortable for both rider and passenger. Guess I will have to keep my 14 FXDL to have my semi "sporty" bike and then add the land cruiser eh I mean ultra to the garage lol. Enjoy it, good choice on the 14 by the way, loads of upgrades over a 13 model.

Nice cruiser. Stay safe man.

Feels like I read 2-3 articles a week of people dying down here on bikes.
50-50 on fault.

Yeah the wife loves it. She sits back there like a damn princess or her throne. And it really handles 2 up well. I remember hating doing 2 up on my Triumph and she was only 115lbs then.

Um....Thanks for the encouraging words..I think, lol. I hear ya though. Last year a young girl was playing on her phone when her diesel pick up went off the shoulder, she jerked it back and over corrected into the opposing lane hitting 2 rider head on at 50 mph killing them. It definitely plays on my mind.

You're a lucky man to have a wife who is willing to jump on the back. Cherish what you've got. Not everyone is so fortunate. I definitely envy you.

Great looking bike. Congrats!

Nice bike! My wife is one of those women who love to sit on the back of their throne. Enjoy it and be safe out there.

Thanks. I definitely lucked out with the wife. She supports all my interests and likes to be a part of them.
