I just emailed them about this. Asked them when it will be available and how much. Will post back when I get a response.

Check the AUS price, ooohhhhh.
Still busting balls for that but looks pretty solid. Glad they're still pushing 03-04 stuff. Maybe this will solve my belt problems, blower up, pulley down. That how the math works right? :)

There was someone in one of the Cobra FB groups that was testing this intercooler with the J2fab aftermarket one doing flow tests and temperature tests and measurements. It was under the 03-04 Cobra Advise and FAQ Group on FB. The guy doing the testing was Troy Estell

Curious to see the results. In the video it looks like the "pass through" necks down to use the stock front water manifold? I feel like that would still be the choke point where as the J2 welds new tubes on there.

I just checked the thread again was hoping to seen some kind of update on it but nothing since a week ago. Hopefully VMP will provide some testing with the intercooler as well.

Just got word from VMP. The new intercooler is priced at $1349. The fittings for it are $49. Im not sure if that includes a modified end adapter to accept larger hoses. I sure hope so at that price.

I hope so too, exact same price as the J2 which includes the modification. Does their original Gen GT500 TB work with these new blowers? Don't see why not, I'd imagine a different plenum though. Going to be close to $5k for the whole setup up.

A 2.3 gt500 setup will work but shortly after the gen 3 came out vmp released a revised gen 3 plenum that requires porting to match the old gen 1,2,3 tvs.

Here is my early gen 3 with the new gasket for the revised gen 3 gt500 inlet.

Interesting to you have to enlarge the opening on the older blows since the new plenum is a little bigger (steps down from plenum to blower)? I guess if you go to a new Gen blower you can use the older plenum since you be stepping up plenum to blower. But leaving a little performance on the table no taking advantage of the full blower inlet size? Not sure I read that right.

Did you have a VMP 2.3 before the GEN3 or a Whipple? Can't remember.

Does anyone have an idea on how long the Carb EO #’s take to be approved?

I did have a gen 2 gt500 2.3 setup. When I bought my gen 3 I actually had it come with the accufab plenum because it was cheaper and slapped on my gen 2 gt500 plenum to my gen 3 tvs and it matched up perfectly. The revised gen 3 gt500 bigger plenum came out a little while later and cnc porting the case came out at that time that matched the new inlet. The gen 3 results weren't as impressive as vmp had hoped so they came out with their own larger silicone cold air intake, new plenum, and cnc ported case to help make it perform.

Fyi the new plenum sucks to install unless you grind a lot of material off one bolt hole it's virtually impossible to install. After grinding it and getting the right Allen wrench it's a 5 min install again.

Yeah was going to ask you your impressions of the Gen 3 vs your 2.3. Even the last gen was a batch to get to that bottom bolt by the valve cover. Did know they finally had an intake. Was thinking of swapping to the Gen 3R in the spring but that 3.0 is a beast too. That and I don't know how much more boost I can run with my CR even on corn. Makes tuners nervous.

The video I saw there was a choice of slip tubes. One necked down to use the stock manifold. But there were larger ones available for use with a modified manifold.

I'd be curious to see what Cobra Engineering comes up with. At least I think thats who he said was working on a new manifold. I have a hunch I'll be adding a crossover delete to my list as well.
