Found something worth looking at, Flexsteel's modern release of the Thunderbird.

~$2k, I'll find a local dealer (Salt Creek) and talk with them.

Buy once, cry once. We used to always purchase inexpensive furniture and between the kids and dogs it was constantly being replaced. Once we went with EA, we’ve yet to replace an item yet.
Agreed, especially on something that you'll be touching, sitting on and in the middle of the room for years to come.

Cheap furniture should be a crime. Nothing is worse then spilling a drink o. A coffee table and watching it dissolve.

I’ll say it again, Amish. We’re lucky enough to have a guy 30 minutes north who custom builds our furniture. We have about 15 pieces so far and have another on order now. Here’s our 4X8’ custom dining room table/chairs/bench. $1200 finished...View attachment 1660604

Damn, wonder what it would cost to ship out to me.

We have bought Stickley furniture, usually 1-2 pieces a year as that’s all the budget would allow. American made and top notch quality

Look around for local cabinet shops. Some also do furniture.

They ship everywhere so its actually reasonable usually. Buddy bought an entire swing set for his kids. $3500 shipped and erected. Was priced at $7500 here in CT. It came from PA.

Damn, wonder what it would cost to ship out to me.

Very good point, my cousin owns, runs a custom door and cabinet shop. He does doors and cabinets for custom home builders...Anyways he doesn't usually get a lot of request to do furniture, but will on occasion if customer wants and out of any wood specified.

Really depends on how much you want to spend. But handbuilt stuff will get pricey as hell (talking thousands for an end table). Specially if it is coming from Italy and such.

But yea the amish are a good bet for well built fair priced stuff.

Potato barn out here in Mesa has been amazing for me over the last 10 years. Quality stuff unlike the trash you're bound to find at all of the big box stores. I'd check it out if you haven't already.

I liked Restoration Hardware but I just looked and most of it is built overseas. The stuff I bought from them has been good though, so I dunno. Maybe they pay $.20/hr instead of $.15. for the cream of the crop...

As others have said, Ethan Allen.

My whole house is basically Ethan Allen. My parents have had Ethan Allen for decades. It is American made, durable, and everything is customizable.

Sure, it has a high initial cost, but it costs less in the long run.

There's a store off of Bell Rd near Arrowhead Mall.

All Made in USA. Happy wife, happy life.

Same here. Had the whole house furnished by Ethan Allen back in 2002. Still looks new. All made in the US.
