RIP, LL.

I hope that his family may find peace in this most difficult of times and that they can take strength from the love and respect this community has for him.

It was a gut punch when I found out about LL. Like Barry said, he'd do anything to help a friend. I was hoping to get him in a couple month. I'm glad I've got something of his that's tied to him and SVTP, his old KB 2.3 from his red Lightning. I'm never selling that thing.
I've got a video buried on my computer somewhere of him doing a burnout in that truck. Good ol' LL.

Larry was an asshole...

But he was my kind of asshole. The older I get, the more I realize why older folks are the way they are, and the more I resemble their thinking. That’s why we all get along here for the most part, aside from a couple basement dwelling trolls.

Man that's hard to hear

I remember helping out years ago with the raffle of a blower to help him pay some medical bills.

Always a good guy, just a no BS type

The more I read these stories about LL the more shocked I am. I remember reading stuff on other forums about how much of an asshole he was to the point where I actually chose not to create and account here years ago. Where was all this stuff when he was swinging that ban hammer around?

For those that actually knew him please don't take this as disrespectful as that is not my intention I am just trying to get a grasp on all this. Honestly he seems like the type of person I'd get along with very well. I've done some of the same things such as calling people and helping them work through repairs and I think I treat those inside my circle the same way.

I hope wherever he is at he's at piece and pain free and I am sorry to all you that lost a friend.

I really want to see that burnout video too.

Larry was tough and didn't like bs. For those out there that had a run in with him, its likely they were in the wrong. He was tough but fair. And he always had something to offer.

I never called him an asshole. He was the onery old fart. I was the other one. Even his voice mail was from the "old fart."

Larry was on old biker who learned lessons the hard way so to speak. A former drug dealer who turned addict. Larry credited the Lord with saving him and had that date of salvation tattooed on his chest.

He changed from rock to country because country represented more how he felt about his country and life. He was patriotic, conservative and Christian. He liked to work on cars and did a pretty good job of flipping them until the health issues caught up with him. He went through a heart by pass, small strokes, diverticulitis, diabetes, depression and a few falls. I know he is at peace and not hurting now.

LL was just a sweetheart. I know, I know, but I can say that, I'm a female. And when he'd do something nice, he'd say, "Now, don't tell anyone." I threatened to tell everyone what a teddy bear he was.

I have it on a memory stick I think - I hope. Before I retired, I downloaded 30 years worth of stuff from my computer at work. I have a ton of his emails, his jokes (where did you think I got a lot of them?) and pictures and videos. He was one of a kind.

True Mary. His voicemail was, “this is the old fart, leave a message.”
I remember learning from him, kind of. He’d give infractions for posting in the wrong forum. lol
There are a few beauties on her where he got into it with members. This is a IIRC one where he got into it with the then wife of the owner on mod fords. Can’t remember her name, but it was classic.

RIP LL I've known of him for well over a decade, used to be on a funny email chain he would send out years ago. Very surprised with this awful news. :/
