Ooof, yeah guy on my old softball team was selling a Raptor at a great price when I had my 07 5.4 F150. I was interested till I found out it was a 5.4. Sooooo, same engine with better suspension I will never use?? Sure does look nice though. Sad my new tuned 3.5 makes make a **** ton more power and torque than that Raptor.

I mean it is getting to the point where it unusable power in a truck. Pretty much just bragging rights. The GT500 powered Raptor better also get the GT500 brakes...
Thats what Ford Performance has always been about: Bragging rights. O. John Coletti, Hau Thai-Tang, Jamal Hameedi, Dave Pericak.... These men were responsible for a dominance of Ford SVT and Ford Performance. Until the ZL1 Camaro came out, there was NOTHING domestic touching a factory Cobra and GT500 short of a Z06 Corvette. That was a badge of pride unto itself: it took a Corvette from Cheby to compete with SVT.

Nobody seems to have mentioned it, but if they were to put the predator in the new raptor, what transmission would it get? Seems like an unlikely place for a DCT. 10 speed? Aren’t there a bunch of people wishing the 10 speed was available in the GT500 rather than the current DCT that seems to be limiting performance?

Shouldnt be hard at all to adapt the 10R140 from the Super Duty. If thats too large of a trans, I dont see why they couldnt beef up the 10R80 to pass validation testing. Enough Mustang GT guys making big power through the 10R80 that it could be done.

Somewhere in Dearborn, there is a mid-level project manager that just got kicked in the nuts. Why? He didnt think FCA would actually Hellcat a Ram Rebel, and now has to come up with reasons why the Soy-latte powered EcoPowerBoost Raptor for the new Gen F 150 is getting pwned by a big ole Supercharged Hemi **** YOU from an American truck brand owned by Italians and the French.... lmao!

I’m having an issue with the only monotone color being black. Picky I know, but 80-85k the way i optioned it, just give me some non 2-tone options.

The only other person that I know for a fact that has a Gen2 in this thread is @kaz109 he has said specifically he would prefer a V8 and so would I. However, in ‘17 the 3.5 HO was the most powerful engine in Ford’s lineup besides the Voodoo (HP not TQ). Yes, the 3.5 HO was made “specifically” (quotes because it made its way into other platforms/trims) for the Raptor, but that does not change the fact it was Ford’s best engine at the time. So for me that is the engine I wanted. If they had a TT 5.0 at the time I would have opted for that engine. To be honest I would only want the Predator if you could select power levels for it. 700ish HP on the dirt is a quick way to wad up the truck. On the street a different story.

It is like sport bikes. On the street I want a liter bike because I’m a big dude and need/want the power. However, on a track (given skill) a 600 would be better.

I have one and have zero complaints about the truck other than the sound. Anyone whos ever driven a Gen 2 cannot deny the performance of the Ecoboost. Its really, really good for a V6. The truck has more than enough power. Do I wish it had a V8, yes, but only for sound! It's not lacking anywhere else. I'd rather see ford put a lightweight 500-525HP NA coyote engine in the Gen 3 and keep the weight of the truck down than try to compete in the HP wars. Its not what the raptor was built for and I think Ford knows that. There's a reason Ram didn't show the TRX ripping through whoops and jumps in their promo, and a reason that it only bests the Raptor by mere fractions in statistics other than HP and TQ. That's all they were after.

Cant wait to see the Ram boys do this! They'll need a fuel tanker to travel with them :D

Ford does have a tendency to **** it’s fan base. Take for instance the 5.4L Gen1 guys...

a friend bought a $50k 2007(?) awd harley f150 just before they announced the optional supercharged version.

same could be said for the 2001 HD f150 guys..

You haven’t been inside a new ram then. It blows the current raptor interior out plain and simple. That said the next raptor will likely resolve that.

As far as exterior ascetics well it’s subjective really

You are correct. I should have been more clear, as I wasn’t knocking the ram interior. Ive just been driving a JKU with seat covers and a raptor lined interior, with drain plugs pulled, for a decade. Basically anything i get next will be exponentially nicer than the wrangler lol.

Yeah, the 5th generation Ram's interior are super nice. Even my '16 Ram Sport interior is really nice.
That blue would be the color I would get, if I were to get a TRX. Love it.
