In this video, we have a look at the ordering process, terms, codes & timeline. This covers what to expect as well as the difference between the base model and the Carbon Fiber Track Pack. I explain my drop ship agreement and how I avoided additional shipping charges. We see my actual car going down the assembly line, its first start at Flat Rock, we talk train tracking and then go to pick up my car at the dealer!

it'd be a tough decision between a new GT350 w/ the manual and a new GT500
If you ever get some seat time in the new GT500 and see first hand how frigg’n amazing the DCT is, it would not be a tough decision. I don’t care for automatic Mustangs. The DCT is not an automatic. It’s crazy awesome!

Great video Tim and beautiful car!

Thanks for the shout out in your video and your business!!
Thanks Darin! You the MAN!

If anyone is in the market for a car, hit this man up! He is a Mustang enthusiast (that’s why he is on this forum) and he is a damn good dude. This is the “Darin” I reference in the video.

Awesome video. Really enjoyed watching it. Love your set up in the shop as well.

Great video, thanks for posting.
Thanks guys!

I washed it Tuesday evening (no longer dirty) and the car has been on my lift since. Yesterday, I removed the CFTP suspension spacers and got the splitter installed (no small task). More work today... I’ll eventually drive it!

Yea, Id like an opportunity to drive one. Do you still feel connected to the car like a clutch/stick combo?

Great video, glad to see you finally got the car. I was shocked when you first put up your new GT500 up for sale then realized you were getting this one. It is my favorite color, enjoy!

I went for a ride one this week and I can say it was impressive. We were in a turn running about 30, he matted the gas and the car stuck. It never turned the tires loose, just stayed planted right through the turn. My CTSV would not have done that, the car would have been sideways before the traction control thought about kicking in.
Congrats on the new car, I love the color!

My favorite Mustang in my collection has always been my 2000 Cobra R. This is despite having a 750hp Whippled 2011 GT500. The R is just a completely different experience. It is as raw of a car as you can imagine. You feel and hear absolutely everything the car does. My R has held the #1 podium spot since I bought it. It now shares the #1 spot with my 2020. First off, a disclaimer. I still haven’t driven my CFTP more than a couple hundred GLORIOUS feet! I have been doing PDI and just started polishing it today prepping for PPF and ceramic. I do, however, have lots of time in my base model and a friend’s base model. I also spent a full day at Charlotte Motor Speedway at Ford Performance’s Racing School in a base model and I drove a CFTP on the track in Vegas at Ford’s unveiling event last Oct.

My opinion on the car... it’s a super car in Mustang clothing! My, how far Mustangs have come through the years! The 2020 has about the same power as my 750hp 2011 yet it is completely different. It has 100% of the power, 100% of the time. Heat soak and brake fade were made obsolete with the 2020 GT500. The wild and unstable rear end of the 07-14 GT500s feel like my F150 when compared to the IRS and Magneride suspension in the 2020. It puts traction down through witchcraft and you can confidently hammer the throttle and know the outcome. It is like my R in that sense. I find the transmission to be 100% fabulously EPIC! It is what takes the car from another Mustang and thrusts it into super car status. The paddles are fun “AF” and if you want to go BALLS-OUT, you let the DCT do its magic and you 100% focus on your race line.

Naysayers are quick to discount the new GT500 as an automatic Mustang. They have no clue what they are talking about. I have yet to find one person with seat time in the car that wasn’t blown away by everything, including the tranny. A manual transmission would absolutely ruin the 2020 and I was a die hard manual Mustang fan.

Oh, and then there are the brakes... probably the most insane thing about the car. I’m surprised they don’t set off the airbags!

Thank you sir! I too was stunned at how you could hit the gas in turns and it just stuck and went! The base is on 4S tires, which are great on the road course. The CFTP is on SC2 tires, which take it to a whole ‘notha level!

Awesome video and a wonderful garage and collection. I have a 03 Cobra I had delivered new and saw it before it was prepped, it's a cool experience and by the way I still have it 34,000 miles.

Do you ever track any of your cars?
