I don't know if I'm just dumb, or this is something that can't be done......or both.

I'm a Spotify premium subscriber. I have all my local songs in my Spotify library. I created a playlist containing all local files. I also downloaded that playlist to my phone.

The issue I'm having is that I can play the playlist on an individual device like my computer. But when I try to connect to other devices like my chromecast, or receiver. it doesn't work. I can see them in the devices menu. But I can't connect to them. This only happens when I try to play playlists that contain local files. If the playlist contains ONLY local files, I can't play any songs. If it contains a mixture of local files, and Spotify equivalents, I can play just the Spotify files.

I thought when I turned on my local fies, Spotify would find the equivalents automatically?

Yes, all my devices are on the same network, before you ask.

Interested to hear a solution here. I had a similar problem with them years ago and basically gave up on it playing "Local" files and just use what's available in their music library. I use them I would say 6-8hrs a day at minimum and love their platform for the most part.

Seems when you turn on the Local Files option, it doesn't automatically find the Spotify versions of your songs. Therefore, the only way I found to get the Spotify versions is create a text file of all my songs in Artist - Song Name format, then upload it to Spotify using this third party app: Transfer Playlists Between Music Services! 100% free | Tune My Music Once I did that, I could connect to other devices.
