Hi,
I had the car windows tinted and the tinter removes the UAW and Sirius XM stickers from the quarter and door glass. I got a ticket for tinted windows so I have to remove them. Is there a way I can get these stickers back?

Thanks

My internet search showed the local union provided replacements to people when contacted by them.

Maybe call or email the Flat Rock local?

They may be on social media too

Good luck.

I'd leave the tint on or maybe go 1 shade lighter.?

Police should probably worry more about all the crime/looting and trashing of the City instead of a tint job on a car.

I just spoke to a cop and he said the guy who gave the ticket was just a jerk and that they don't usually give tickets just for that. Since the car's not parked on the street and isn't really driven around, I'll just keep the tints on and just be more observant. Also, the ticket is $98 so I'll just chalk it up to the cost of doing business.

I was told by a cop a few years back that the tint must be measured on a moveable window so they can measure the tint. A stationary window will not allow a tint measurement because the unit cant be placed properly.....any truth to this?

Because of this, I have all window tints (except roll up windows) at 30% which is/ was illegal in Ohio and 50% (is or was legal) on said rollups.

With the combination of 30%/50%, all windows look dark and consistent.....never been pulled over though.

I just wanted to update. I wrote to the Ford UAW and they sent me an original sticker. Thank you all and also Ford UAW for the help and getting me an original sticker.

I’m attaching the sticker and address of where I wrote in case others want to do the same.

Yes.
When I got a ticket for tint (15 years or so ago), the cop slid the tint meter over the top of the driver's window, much like a paper clip.
He slid it on with the readout facing me, and then asked me what it said. I took a big gulp, and replied "12".

^ding ding^

There's a slot in the bottom that the window goes in, the device puts light through the window and the opposite side has a sensor that tells how much got through.

I've had this done when I had limo on the 01, came back 5%

He said he was giving me a break because he could have given me a ticket for the passenger window too.

Paid the ticket, left the tint. After that, if I was ever pulled over I had the windows down and the dome light on. Never got mentioned by another cop again and I did meet a few after that one

*edit* IIRC you could get a prescription from a dermatologist that would allow you to have levels of tint that were considered illegal

Now that was Very Cool of them!!!

I would have thought those stickers were a one-time assy. line thing. Luckily you got one that is like the original, I'm sure they change over time and you would only get what is currently available........again, Very Cool!!

Did all year GT500s get them? Bought mine used, and it came tinted. I don't see the sticker.

You’re right. It is a one time thing and the sticker was updated. This is what was sent to some one when they wrote to Ford and was told that the old design was not made anymore.

That’s why I wrote to the Union. I was hoping they had the original, and they did.

I’m not sure but I think they do. When I was looking for a sticker, I saw that the majority of S197 Mustangs had them. Usually, the tinter will remove these stickers because it’ll cause problems with adherence or bubbling under the tint.

I don't remember seeing the UAW sticker on my 2008, it has never had tint, however Shelby put the 1/4 window scoops on my car along with the interior 1/4 window plates, so maybe the sticker is there?

I did not get a Sat. Radio sticker, my car was intentionally option with the Sat. Radio delete which was 2007/2008 only because I did not want the hockey puck sat. radio ant. on my trunk lid.......so my car would not have gotten that sticker.
