I can't believe I am here making a thread about my pal, my boy, a dear friend, a fellow member's passing hon this very forum which we frequented together. Folks, our ViciousJay left us due to suddenly surfaced health issues. Apparently he was stubborn to go the hospital and when he did, it was too late.

When I first moved to Chicago back in June of 2006, he was the very first friend I had. He had a silver 04 Cobra and I had a zinc yellow 03. We met up at a gas station meet and greet and it was on after that. We were inseparable. We did everything together. He was that douchebag you really wanted as a friend because he really had a good heart.

He drank a lot. He always called me all drunk, talking to me about life and I tried so hard to get him to stop. I kept telling him to stop poisoning himself. I remember one day a couple of years back told me he had a problem. He couldn't stop drinking. I got him some help and he got better, but he got back into it. I feel like such shitty friend for not trying harder and now he left me, left us.

Rest in peace buddy, I can't wait to see you again.

I have many pics of us together but this was the last one we took together. Jay is the one with the ballcap.

I know your guilt @musclefan21. I had a high school friend (best friend) that went the wrong way... drugs and alcohol. I wanted no part in the drugs and drinking every weekend and got a Foxbody mustang.

Fast forward several years. My old friend made some terrible choices in life and died last year at 38 years old. I felt so guilty, like if I would’ve stuck around, maybe I could’ve been a more positive influence on him.

Try not to beat yourself up too much man.

Sucks to loose a member. I think I’ve interacted with him on here before. R.I.P. VisciousJay.

This is heartbreaking. I'm sorry for our loss and way more importantly for your loss. I have no advice, but I'll recognize the load and so will the rest of SVTP.

Wow. Life is fragile. Unpredictable. Keep your friends and family close. One never knows when they won't be around anymore. I almost lost my mom earlier this year and I almost lost it. RIP, Jay.

Shit man, Jay had been here as long as I can remember and he was always a cool guy. I distinctly remember him talking about being in the The Dark Knight as one of the SWAT extras as he worked in the movie industry for a bit, and I remember him talking about how incredible the movie was going to be and hyped it up big time for us on here.

I've so far lost two good friends for reasons where alcohol played a part and in both times I could have done something to try to prevent it had I just been a little closer at the time or gotten more involved in the moments preceeding. But the truth is that you didn't know and you could never know because he had his own decisions that he made ultimately just as my friends did. I'm really sorry to hear of his passing and sorry that you lost your friend. Feel free to PM me if you need someone to talk about it with. You'll feel guilty for a little while but it will pass because it isn't your fault.

RIP Jay

Sorry to hear man. Life is so fragile that we, in our average day, tend to forget that. It's painful to lose a loved one even when they've lived a long and successful life. To lose a young friend... that's just not right. :(
