Which cat back is louder to be paired with catted Bassani X-pipe. Borla Stingers or Flowmaster American Thunder. I know they are different sounds. I want to get an idea which one is louder decibel wise.

Yeah I am leaning toward Stingers. I have had flowmasters on all of my mustangs up to this point, I guess I just need some people to tell me Borla is better for the Terminator to not buy Flows again.

Borla is louder. Depending on who you ask depends on if one sounds better than the other.

i have run both of these exact same setups and the borla is louder by a longshot.

it also sounds much better overall esp when mated with a bassani catted-x imo

I've had both also. I definitely like Borla better

IMO the Flows don't sound aa good with the X. They sound better with an H.

I like my Bassani catted X/Stingers combo enough I pulled them off my 01 to run on my 04.

My cobra came with Borlas and I switched to Mac, which is pretty similar to flows but sounds better IMO, The Borla are much louder but Mac/ Flows sounds much better IMO

I bought the Borla S-type, but I think I am going with an MRT catted H-pipe over the Bassani catted X. There are not many exhaust clip videos of the MRT/ Borla combo, but the ones that are out there sound damn good, no rasp at all. Plus something different, I know quite a few people with Borla/ Bassani combo

MRT is very expensive though for a mid pipe

I just bought an 04 Cobra that is being delivered in a few days and it has flowmasters on it. I knew I would hate it so I bought the Borla S type before the car even shipped. It will be paired with a Bassani Catted X

I have stock headers and bassani catted x with borla stingers and it’s too loud and drones like nuts around 2k. Maybe I’m getting old but it sounds great when you get into it but normal driving it’s not great on the ears in the cabin
