Man that's how these things go. I hope you get it back on the road soon. I am still in the middle of doing this swap on my 03 Cobra. All of the mechanical parts are done, I am doing the wiring now. With help because I suck at wiring! lol. I have a quick question for you Ryan. How does your car know it's in drive? Meaning what did you use as a signal to let the engine know to "idle up" once it is put into the drive position? I hope that question make sense.

If using the Quick 6 controller, it will determine based on the position of the shift lever. Trust me, if your shift cable is not adjusted right, you will get an ERROR message. It took me a few adjustments to get it perfect as my Lokar shifter cable stretched some after a few times of using it and my car would not engage the controller properly between neutral and drive and immediately trigger an ERROR message.

Threw the towel in on my swap. The trans never shifted right, even after having a shop tune it. Pulled everything out and having my t56 built.

I played around with the software of a while and made a tune that shifts pretty good around town and shifts great at the track consistanlty at 6500. Its possible just takes some getting use to learning the software. The lokar shifter is an easy option and just manually shift the gears since your leaning towards the t56 anyway.

Are the cruise control on and off gutted or did you put them back in so they are functional still?
I realize you probably have no use for cruise control but was curious if it could go back in and function.
Been looking for a way to add a button there just haven't looked hard enough yet.

Still functional..... at least the buttons and wiring are. LOL. Underhood mine was disconnected a long time ago, but could be put back in at some point if I wanted.
The only issue I had was my buttons are from 1998 so they are old/brittle. I pried up on them to pop off from the lower housing to gain access, but it appears one side of mine cracked on the small tab that snaps it into place. It seems to hold fine so far but something to keep in mind.
The trick is to drill the holes for your mount so you clear the internal passages of the housing to put the screws in. I got lucky on the 1st shot.

Need a little help. I got my 6R80 swap in but of course not 100% complete. Need some help with idling. 2003 2.9 Whipple Cobra. Stage 3 Comp Cams. Circle D 3200/3400 stall. Car idles at around 900. When I put it into gear it stalls the engine. I have to raise the idle to around 2200 to get it to not stall but the idle is low at around 500/600 rpms while in gear. What am I missing?

Nope. I need a trigger to let the ECM know the car is in drive so it changes to another map in the tune.
I started studying a pin out and wiring diagram today .

It wouldn't be a problem if the torque converter was loose as hell but it's not so here I am lol.
If I can't figure it out then I might have to go with a super loose converter to make it work but that is not what I want to do.

If you end up being in the market for a different converter I have a practically new circle d for sale. I had no problems with it.

I got mine driving, Q6v2, OE 6R80 & TC, NA 4V w/cams. After an initial drive its better, I think the in gear brake on idle tuning needs some work due to the extra load on the motor from the auto trans in neutral and in drive. Hopefully will get to that this week.

My speedometer is not functioning. I have the Tan wire from the Q6 to PCM pin 84 green/white wire, its the OSS wire from the trans. Its set as 5v AC output. No capacitor since I have Q6 V2. Any tips?

Found out that I broke the Intermediate Shaft in my 6R80. And it was Billet (the one from TCS).
Guess 3800 pound car, 30# boost and 1300+ rwhp made it unhappy. LOL!

The only issue I’ve had with the 6r80 was it didn’t want to stay in manutronic mode, but it was my fault wiring like didn’t have a good connection. I think most people that have issues is because their wiring is not right.

would you still recommend people to do this swap? Does the car feel faster than the 6 speed? I am curious how the 6R will do from a roll. Like if you loose top end compared to a stick car. Not sure if I still wnt to do this, or, do a T56 magnum. Then save up and get a used coyote 10 speed auto. Decisions lol
