Update-

Heard an exhaust leak from the V band on the merge pipe. tried adjusting a few times to have the V band clamp break.

Waiting for new V band clamps to get it together.

New update,

While at the alignment shop the steering rack blew out. No CObra SPR-ZM Racks to be found, AGR sold out, so i grabbed a GT rack for the mean time so I can have my cobra rack rebuilt.

Racecar problems never end. Dyno Date set for Aug 8th pending Pandemic haha.

Found a Gt steering rack Friday so I was able to drop off the rack today and got the car back on the road.

Honestly cant tell the different between driving a GT rack or Cobra rack.

Ill be getting my cobra rack rebuilt and back in.

Update....

working out last bit of exhaust leaks and fab.

Decided to get crazy because i didnt like how the other intercooler pipes i made looked. So i used a spare throttle body and welded my elbow on and used a V band to hold it together. dyno next week if the car stops messing with me.


Im not a great welder but im able to make what i need hahah.

I'll give you props for making your own stuff, but the welding is absolutely atrocious on this car in literally every area and it will severely impact resale if you decide to sell someday. Things that I suck at, like welding and fabrication, I leave to people who are experts. Anyway, not trying to sound like a dick, just giving some honest feedback. Good luck

lol sounds like someone shit in your wheaties this morning.

things like elbow were welded inside and out, outside being heavy filler so i can grind it down smooth.

Welding atrocious in every area? youre halarious man, you probably know too little about welding to understand anything you're seeing.

Sure the welds arent on weldporn or anything, but things like cleaning pieces, weld prep, and penetration are what matter. which every weld i have done has been pressure tested at least twice what it will see in it environment.

cleaned up the elbow and spray painted for now so i can use it on the dyno, afterwards its getting wrinkle black like the rest of the pipe.

VHT makes a wrinkle black paint that when cured properly is almost indistinguishable from the wrinkle black powder. I've used it on a few things in my bay and even bolted right up against the powdered pieces its hard to tell a difference. The trick is to cure it with a heat gun or oven after spraying to get a uniform finish. Might save you some down time waiting on the powder coater.

Kudos to doing a lot of your own work! Everything is looking good.

thank you!! i was at ace and home depot for way too long and said forget it and grabbed gloss haha.

No problem, I think most auto parts stores carry it. I usually have a can on hand just in case lol
