Magpul makes good cases for the money ;) Had these for years and dropped countless times.

Android all the way. I have an iPhone for work and absolutely hate it. I've put effort into learning it and adjusting, but there are things it simply does not do well. I've asked coworkers and searched around and the issues are not unique to me. Something as simple as actually receiving email without opening each folder and manually refreshing every damn time. Having it for work where I'm on call once in a while is extremely unreliable. When I hear the iPhone "just works", I can see how people would say that, it never crashes and I never have to fiddle with things, but that's because it fails silently. You never know if it is working or not. General use things like social media apps don't fail outright. They just don't update your feed, show you messages, or clear notifications. The system overall is just too convoluted yet oversimplified, where I have to go through every option and menu to figure out what I need to do. Only to find out iPhone doesn't do that. I can't see myself ever voluntarily owning one.

Still rocking my 512gb Note 9... and I know many other IT pros still using them.
Iris unlock and a headphone jack, no holes in the screen, very small bezels, that have the earpieces speaker on the face and battery still lasts all day after 2 years of being on nearly continuous.
Plan to keep using it until it dies. The fingerprint sensor on the back is the only "downside" but the iris scan unlock is nice.

I should have said I work in IT and am a tech-enthusiast, so pretty standard to hate Apple. But I really have tried to like it and adjust. My mother recently switched to the iPhone and it is actually great for her. Simple and mostly just works.

Been using iPhones since the original. Love them. Every time I try and use an Android I feel like it’s so clunky, but I’m used to iOS.

but after only getting about a little over a year out of my Samsung’s or other brands, I saw how well and long other people I knew kept their iPhones and decided to buy an iPhone 7.

Damn what are you guys doing to your phones?

I'm still rocking my galaxy S7edge from day of launch. Getting a little slow opening stuff like maps but everything else is still decently quick and no lag. Screen and case look new still.

I’ve had nothing but iPhones for personal use. Used a couple of Androids for work and didn’t like them, probably because I’m used to an iPhone.
Using an 11 now.
I agree with a phone is a phone

You also have to take into account connectivity of phones when using Bluetooth devices and especially in vehicles. Believe IPhone wins out here.

Lol. I knew this was going to be the typical “ford vs chevy” “Apple vs pc” type of discussion. Which is why i asked about apple specifically. I have android, I like them and if I could get one that would stream to my hearing aids I would not consider swapping out my android.

I hated the fact that Apple took the headphone jack out and came up with those ridiculous ear buds neither of which is hearing aid friendly. Had I not lost one of my hearing aids (which didn’t stream) and upgraded to a set that I could stream to I would be keeping my android

My last phone, non Apple, was the Samsung S5 Active. It was supposed to be a more robust phone.

The lens on the camera cracked falling on a shop floor from waist level. I fixed that, then, not too long after that, the ear speaker started to crack when in use. Then, the screen on the phone started to fade in and out after using for about 10 minutes or so and would stay that way.

My two previous “contractor grade” Samsung’s....I cracked the screen in Sturgis when I dropped it sitting on the pot, and my next Samsung after that, the screen would randomly turn on and off.

I use my iphone in the same manner and it just keeps on doing its thing... working.

There will always be Ford vs. Dodge, Ford vs. Chevy, and iPhone vs. Samsung. People have their own personal reasons, usually, for their preferences. Buy what you like.....and like what you buy.
