I've shared a few pictures and videos so far... I'll keep this thread updated.

I sold my 2008 ACR because I was approached with an offer that I wouldve been foolish to pass on.

During the transaction I reached out to a guy in California about his 2003 Competition Coupe Viper (chassis #3). Ended up making a deal before my other one sold, but hey living on the edge is fun...wife got over it when the money got wired.

I received my car two weeks ago, on a Saturday. On Monday I ripped all of the vinyl wrap off. On Tuesday I took it to dyno, weigh (corner balance) and then dropped it off to get a new wrap.

The wrap was supposed to be done within a week...but it quickly turned in to two weeks when he realized that it was going to be fairly difficult to wrap.

The plan is to pick it up this Monday. Then, I'll install my lap transponder, wire my cameras in to the switch, swap out the fire suppression tank with a fresh one, install lead ballast (to stay in my class), re-add all the necessary safety decals, add class decals, and align it. Then Saturday, I'm taking it to the track and hope to improve my PR by at least 2 seconds; tall order, but I'm pumped.

Shooting for a <1:44.

Anyways. Here are two photos of it midway through the new wrap! Turned out really good so far! It's after the Dodge livery from 1998. I will be adding my Anderson Motorsports decals over the wheel wells and on the windshield.

Videos to come next week!

Looks 5.slow.

;)

Wish I had the funds and time to invest in a track toy. I think it would be a lot of fun. I worry that by time I'm financially there, I'll be too old to enjoy it.

We've had 70+ year olds do well in Radicals. But... Still no excuse to procrastinate, get on out there!

Weak thought process lol

You can track cars that are very reasonable. You could be $12-15k in on a Miata and supporting maintenance for an entire year of fun!

100%. There's more 50+ year olds than younger people at the tracks I've been too.

Badass Nick!
We definitely need more pics.
Plus, what’s a Competition coupe mean?
Enjoy!

It's a purpose built racecar. Dodge started in 2003 with them, and made then through 2007 or so.

They were purchased directly from the manufacturer, and mostly by race teams. Mine was originally sold McCan Racing, and has a pretty solid race history.

That's awesome! Congrats man! A race car is just a different animal compared to a street car. I've debated tremendously about getting one.

Until that day happens I'll keep tracking my focus st, it's my dedicated "track car".

You should definitely consider traveling to California to hit the well known road courses at some point.

That shot would get black flagged in 4 turns and Seca lol

Previous owner lives in California. His PR around Laguna Seca was a 1:37.76.

Looking forward to seeing how much 'better' of a drive I am haha

That's all fair. It's something I'd love to do, but just not in the cards. I have a buddy who belongs to the local track and I'll juat have to live vicariously through him and get a ride every now and then.

The wrap looks great.
