Hi there, I'm in NJ looking for somebody to build my mach 1's bottom end. I know literally nothing about the process I.E. costs, contacts for building, etc so any help would be much appreciated. I've already got a built 3650 coming in for it as it's an eaton swap car making 460/440whp. Thanks guys

how much power do you ultimately want to make? What fuel is available to run up there? Do you have a budget?

I mean you could go as cheap and easy as a clean up with terminator rods and some new pistons with ARP fasteners or well beyond.

I'm looking for 600-800whp on pump 93 or there abouts. I probably could do around $4500 or $5k. I just want something cheap and easy to keep up with some low boost 5.0s

Id find some terminator rods, upgrade the pistons (terminator is too low on compression for one and also high likelihood of breaking a ringland if any detonation occurs), ARP hardware everything. Have the heads gone through - seats, guides etc... Im not sure what i would cost to have a machine go through it and do the assembly. I'd definitely recommend one shop do EVERYTHING if you cant build it yourself, that way there's no finger pointing if something goes wrong. Depending on mileage/condition may want to replace the timing gear stuff and consider the timing dowel upgrade.

I think 600 is doable on 93, but I wouldn't plan on 800. Does Modmax still have the rod/piston combos? They used to have good deals on that stuff.

good point, my previous combo was 10:1 and made 640 on 93 with somewhere around 13 degrees of timing. I think 14 was the max allowed if all air/coolant temps were in range. On E85 and 18 degrees it was 715. This is a D1 on 14-15#s

The timing system was just rebuilt about 10k ago and I believe the dowel upgrade is in place too. I'd want to keep stock heads and such (since they're already 5.4 heads and cobra cams) but the ARP studs did cross my mind. Would I need to do more than the studs, rods, and pistons?
