Well after 6 years of having my 01 boosted (vortech non aftercooler kit with a 3.60 pulley)i have my first issue that popped up and i am not sure where to start. I came back from a cruise with my girl and the car started noticeably shaking and wouldn't accelerate very well. Fortunately i was less than a mile from my house and i basically coasted it home (thank god)

The car idles fine, oil pressure is spot on, no leaks, coolant temp is fine, vacuum is reading where it should, no smoke.

The only thing i have right not is the belt does not seem as tight as it once was. I know when i was installing the blower 6 years ago, it took 3 of us to get it on. The tensioner now seems to be moving around and squeaking some. My girl said she smelt some burning rubber on and off 30 minutes before it started. I started smelling it at about the 10 min mark.

Mods are in sig, car is fairly low miles at 42k

EDIT: I have been messing with it all day and all of the idlers seem good. Checked it for codes as well and got nothing. I took it for a drive around the block and it is for sure misfiring. i just changed the plugs this May. Maybe have 500 miles on them tops. I guess tomorrow i'm gonna pull the plugs and take a look at those. The only other thing i got is swapping out the coil packs. That's a 250$ guess.

Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

It sounds like an idler either went or is on its way out. This is one of those things you're going to have to start disassembling stuff to look for the culprit. If she was smelling burnt rubber I'm going to guess it'll be easy to find the bad pulley.

If it was a COP I think you'd see a code pretty quick. Same with the plugs. Still doesn't hurt to pull them. I had a set of Autolites fall apart and cause some issues.

Have you pulled the belt and started it up? You can do that for a minute just to see if it runs better. But I wouldn't let it go without the water pump turning for very long.

I would think so as well. I really don’t get why I’m getting no codes.

I’m using Autolites right now. Have for years with no issues but maybe i should try some NGK’s? I guess ill find out tomorrow.

I would physically inspect it and make sure that it is sealing and check the diaphragm with a vacuum pump while you have it off.

Great to see a resolution in a thread. Especially one that most would think wouldn't have thrown codes. Enjoy
