I I've falling in love with the Sparco P310 Comp Mod for my sim setup

(real one doesn't have all the buttons FYI, just two for the horn)
I've been thinking of getting one for my car but I don't know about a flat top for an actual "street car". Flat bottom makes sense but not sure the top would be odd. The steering ratio is way different in a sim since you can adjust it and it's on a track so never much more than half turn unless you're backwards. Thinking about this wheel or the Ford Performance Sparco one.

I know it seems kinda import/ricer but after using this in the house getting in to a stock worn out, dried out 99-04 wheel it feels like a Fisher Price toy. My car is driven very in-frequently, just for fun and already has no cruise control and stuff so not losing much. Had solid bushing, MM shaft, coil overs, cobra rack with ~2k miles etc, etc, so it's pretty tight.

Thoughts? Put this in road side since it's less about the specific car, it's more about the concept of race wheels in general.

I’ve always liked the ford racing sparco. The sn95/new edge steering wheels are fugly anyway.

They're "okay" FR500 is nice. Mine is just shot and the FR500 is more than an aftermarket. Plus I love the feel and the smell of the suede Sparcos. Just gauge the perception of a new edge with an after market. Already have racing seats that would match since my stockers (V6/Gt) were shot and suck for a performance setup. Don't care much what people think just don't want to be cliche and look like a "kid's car".

How would you "hot-wire" the air bag plug so you don't have the dash light staring at you while driving?

I'd have to do a little research, considering I have the theft light blinking at me constantly and the ABS light on I'm not too worried. Might be an inspection issue though, I'll have to think about that. Most of the places around here don't give a shit as long it's not throwing CEL codes. I mean, cammed, E85 V8, manual, no cat long tubes, no egr with a V6 auto VIN, I think if they were actually paying attention at all I'd be ****ed anyway. Thanks for the input, at the very least make sure it's reversible for that kinda stuff. You did make me realize that pretty much everything else is sketchy so why not just go for it and enjoy the feel. Any illusion I have of this being something of a normalish car has gone out the window and now it's just to go fast with. I guess the seats and wheel isn't "ricer/ cause race car" status if you actually have all the go fast parts in a properly sorted car.

...I Do need to fixed my rear wheel speed sensor and get my ABS back though. Running track pads now and they bite hard, very easy to lock them up if you don't modulate properly.

If that's what the whole car is about, then yeah. Do it if you want. It would only seem ricer if the rest of the car wasn't as dedicated to track racing i.e. wheels, splitters, wings, seats, harnesses etc.

However, the only flat wheel I've used was in a C7Z and I didn't care for it at all. And the suede/alcantara on a steering wheel seems like it could get grimey real quick and be a pain to clean. Are there more options out there?

I think "shit box" maybe more accurate than track car. Doesn't get much track time, just has no expense spared setup. Kinda just the experience of driving a track feeling car on the street. Sounds silly but more about being legit quick and raw all mech grip that makes you giggle (no homo) than putting down high aero DCT times. Think the go-cart my parents wouldnt let me have as a kid. 1/3 life crisis, well with this maybe 9/10th life crisis.

**** it picking one and having fun, its going to get grimmy, cant leave the car without smelling like e85 and breather blow by anyway. Might as well have fun. Might just buy a hub and bolt on the sim wheel for size and feel (yeah it works, obviously not driving it though) then probably end up with the Ford Perf one.
