Big 3 kit connection locations question

Bought j2 fab alternator and big 3 kit.

We're does the longer black wire connect too... From battery to were?

he says to boss on alternator and there are only too connection on his alternator the new red wire with fuse and the engine harness plug.?? What am I missing?

I know the short black wire goes by chassis ( headlight location) to battery

I think there's a couple different directions going around. In one it mentions a bolt included and the both you're talking about. Mine had neither one. Then I swear I saw somewhere it was said the boss was eliminated for whatever reason.

Anyway, I connected that black wire you're talking about to the top alternator bolt. Then I ran it to the second ground on the core support. I didn't want a whole bunch of wires on the battery posts. Seems to be working so far.

I agree it's confusing.

No long bolt was supplied either.

Top bolt on Alt. It just needs a good ground on the block or something bolted to it.

The boss is the flange that the bolt goes through on the mounting of the alternator. Instructions are clear, just gotta know the lingo. Good luck! You’re going to love it.

I did the same, I just drilled a hole in the frame and tapped it for an M6 bolt.
