I don't personally know it, but I've seen this several times on the GT500 Facebook forums. Surprised it's still for sale. I feel like I recall someone saying there was some issues with it, but I don't remember for sure since it was 6mos or more ago that I saw it posted.

I have two friends in the Orlando area. I could ask if they'd be willing to check it out in person and maybe go for a drive?

That's not good to hear. Hopefully it was nothing major. I've been talking with the dealership and they said all the bugs are worked out and it runs like a champ. Its hard to trust salesmen though.

That would be awesome if they'd be willing to check it out. If one of your friends is willing to I'll PM my number to you so you can pass it on.

Would he tell you any differently? We all know salesmen will say anything for a sale. I would completely discount what they say.

You will not believe this >> One of my friends moved there almost a few years ago. He is a die-hard Ford fanatic and has owned dozens of Mustangs. Unfortunately, I had not talked to him since he moved. Then this very morning (I'm serious, this morning), there's a knock on my door. I look out at the street and see a Challenger parked out front. So I almost did not answer the door. Glad I did because it was him! He's on a business trip to Ca and decided to take a few off and drove here (600 miles one way). He will be coming back over tomorrow (Friday) morning, so I can ask him in person! I'm sure he'd be happy to check it out, but I also know he's pretty busy. We'll see what he says.

Kenne Bell, Shifter, gauges, combined with a report of possible issues. I'd be careful with this one....

Ditto. Odds are it's been thrashed on a time or two or..... BUT there are also a very few guys who build their cars just for show purposes, then pamper them. I think this is a very small minority, but I know they exist because I'm one of them. Since installing my 4.2 KB about two years ago, I have yet to go anywhere near full throttle. (Actually scared to death to do so due to an accident I had before I bought this car, but that's another story.)

I'm interested in this 2008 GT500. Just curious if anyone knows previous owner or history? Car is for sale in Florida and I live in PA. Before I book a flight just want to make sure it's worthwhile.

Auto Express Enterprise Inc

I live in Florida and have access to Ford's oasis. Where is the car located

That will tell you what repair work was done to it assuming it was done at a Ford dealership

Mods like that DEMAND COMPLETE DOCUMENTATION, otherwise walk away !!

What kind of documentation? I personally installed both of my superchargers, and both were used. I could probably dig up a dated receipt or proof of purchase online, but what else would you demand? The work was meticulous and just as quality as the best of speed shops, if not better since I have an obvious vested interest.

To the OP, the fact that the dealer said bugs had been worked out would be a big red flag for me. Some dealers do it right; most don't. My father is a lifetime used car dealer and I worked in a few as a kid. It's a sure bet the dealer doesn't share any passion for this vehicle; it is a profit vehicle, plain and simple.

Also, white is tremendous as hiding flaws on camera. Someone you trust needs to check it out in person; it's too easy to hide possible body work in white. Ask if the dealer would be willing to test the paint. It's an electronic test that verifies it's original, or not. Standard practice at major auto auctions, but you often have to request it specifically.

Good luck.

Put yourself in the Op's shoes, doesn't know the car, & it's modded.
Complete documentation would be the ONLY reason to go in one's wallet. There are numerous threads on this site to back up my logic..

I don’t necessarily disagree, but again, what documentation would you be looking for specifically?

The below text is from a thread on another site, just an example of " post " buy questions asked:
.
" Traded in my 2008 GT500 for a 2014 GT500. The 14 has 15,000 miles. The only modification I can see are stainless headers and 3 inch straight pipes. Not sure what the stock sc pulley size is if I mike the outside diameter. I am wondering if there is a way I can check to see if there is a tune on the car. It did not come with any tuners or other info. Thanks for the help. "
.
When I sold my 2011, the new owner had ( 2 ) three hole binders, basically the history of the car. If he wanted to know mods were done, the cost, when, & by who, he has that. If he has to replace a modded part, he has the part #'s, where it was bought, & the cost @ the time.
He also has a record of all the car shows the car was entered in, & he got all the awards the car earned.
.............( 2 ) Marti reports.
Maybe my record keeping is overkill, but it is what I would want if I bought a " used modded car ".

Yes the 2 service manuals, ( $ 180.00 ), were part of the sale..
