Was wondering if a 97 cobra rear end will bolt straight in my 04 cobra and run it with 4.10 with the 28 splines that came in it i know the 03-04 come with irs and 3.55 gears with 31 splines but just curious how it would hold up to my 04 cobra with 600hp and 642tq

Yes, but its little shorter. But will bolt in. Youll want a 99-04 SRA and youll want to beef it up to 31 spline and the cobra clutch pack.

You can pick up spacers to make up the difference. It'll clear without them though. We put a 97 GT rear end in my son's 99 GT. The tires were pulled inboard a noticeable amount. I think you can run something a little wider with the narrower rear end as well.

However, the 4.10's are way too much gear for your power level IMO. Unless you're running 28"+ tall tires. And depending on how you drive the car I wouldn't put much faith in the 28 spline axles lasting. My buddy had a stock foxbody with good suspension that he ran a 150 shot on. After about 20 passes we could see the splines starting to twist.
