In just 20k miles these longtubes have officially entered the realm of grotesque. This 'ceramic coating' is quite the joke. Anywhere water has touched, particularly where a/c condensate drips, the coating has peeled off and started to rust. Does anyone have any experience in seeing how long they will go like this before breaking? My car hasn't seen rain in many years but it continues to get worse despite this.

Unfortunately mac never made a good quality header. There coating wasn't made to get wet. You could try adding your own coating to try and protect from rust.

Yeah, your best bet at this point is to sand the areas that are rusting and either add your own coating or find a high-temp protective paint that comes as close as possible to the color of your headers. Won't be perfect to the eye, but better than what you have now. Next time you buy headers, steer clear of Mac. Premier headers cost more....for a reason.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. No way I'm putting these freddy kreugers back on though. Was more or less trying to gauge how long I have before they start leaking from a weld or something. But that probably will vary header to header and environment to environment anyways..

Guess I'll just run them until they leak or I yank the engine to rebuild.

Correct hard to say, all in environments will be different.
