Running like crap after tuner update!

So I guess I broke the rules and updated my SCTX4 tuner. I bought a 2011 GT and was bringing it back to VA emissions legal. While putting the cats back on I told the tech at the shop it was running rich. When went over the mods the car had and the tune that was in the car. It turns out the guy supposedly installed a 85mm TB but it was stock 80mm but the tune was for a 85mm. When I got home I broke out the tuner and it showed an update which I hit ok on! The tuner froze midway through the update I hooked it to my computer and finished the update. Installed the correct tune on my car and it runs like shit! I’m getting P0300, 0316, 0307, 0308. I was getting P1602 but that seems to have dropped off. So far I have changed out the #8 spark plug, swapped the coils around.
I have searched the forums (the search function is not that reliable) for the codes and a trouble shooting guide without much luck so I have to go through pages of threads just to see the exact search term I used in a thread title. I did find the never update your tuner thread just a little to late.
The last things done besides the tuner fiasco was the cats being installed should I go back to them first and then where?

Put the previous tune you had back on it since the car was running okay. Re-verify all the mods on your car and then get with your tuner to make sure they match. It sounds like the tune is off for the mods you have on the car.

The original tune is gone with the update, and with the 85mm tune it was dumping fuel, it was running so rich you couldn’t run the car in my garage with the door up and the side door open. I‘m worried about the bearings as it is the oil smelled a little gassy. I‘ve been going back and forth about sendOmg in an oil sample to see how bad it is.

^^^^^ This!

You've got good, reputable tuners (including one of our Moderators) out there, some in your general area.

I’m working both angles. I’m asking SCT to help me with the turner, and emaile Brent at DTP racing (they did my EFI’d 70 a bunch of years ago)those are tho only guys I know. But I’m willing to work with any runner. For mods I only have a JLT 2 CAI, it was supposed to of had a 85mm TB that turned out to be a lie.

Thanks everyone for the help, BH I never got a chance to try your tune the shop eliminated it being a tuning issue. The car is getting a compression/leak down test done and bore scoped if needed. Worst case is the #8 cylinder is toast which would be the 2nd engine for this car both from the #8 cylinder issue. The first motor at 45k, this one would be around 60k.
There are still new Gen 1 Gt and Boss factory short blocks available right around 2.2k and 3.3k from Ford. If i go that route is the cooling mod for the #8 a smart investment or are these engines just inherently flawed?

Did you ever address the cooling issues before this motor?

I never heard anyone putting a cooling mod on a coyote. The #8 cylinder issue is a tuning problem.

Agree 100 percent. If you have been through 2 engines for the same issue I don't think it's a Ford engineering issue.

true, if the failure is from the same issue, it's a tune issue .. what i do is i add a little extra fuel to Cylinder #8 fuel table to help or simply go easy on the spark tables.

I'll talk to the shop, right now I'm waiting to here back about the bore scope and compression test. I could see fuel being an issue when it had the 85mm TB tune with a 80mm TB actually being on the car it was running rich as hell without any misfires. Once i changed the tune to reflect the correct TB the codes started popping.
As for the cooling mod I've seen plenty of info about the #8 piston overheating issue and the MMR mod that is supposed to help balance out the water flow and give the sensor a better reading.
Gotta run, thanks for the feedback!!

Well the compression test is back 60psi on #8, bore scope shows oil on the piston/cylinder walls. The valves all looked closed and seated.
Whats the next step? Pull the engine and check the heads? Buy a $3300 CR3Z-6009-D 2011-12 Boss short block? A long block for $7500-7800 or so M-6006-M50A1?

You can also get a gen 2 shortblock for around 2k-2.5k. That would be a good upgrade for boost if you decide to go that route.
