yup and they are simply trucks at their core, 7.3 would kick ass in the raptor and is still 50lbs less than the old 6.2. I laugh at the argument of them being referred to as performance vehicles as if they are road course track weapons and adding a little more weight on the nose would somehow upset the balance of a ****ing truck...

So now a raptor is not a performance vehicle lol...yes it matters if a performance truck is nose heavy. When it is built to handle, jump and maneuver off road like the raptor does, yes weight over the nose is a factor . It's common sense really. Now is you are just talking about being a mall crawler like most use them for then sure the extra weight won't mess up you placing your Starbucks order

Thank You,

I see no reason why a 7.3 would not work great in a raptor as the heavier 6.2 worked great in a raptor!

Are you suggesting the 3.5 is very close in nose weight of the 7.3? Can’t be...

Like I said, I'm not sure what I remember reading. Just something where they put a 3.5 and all the "stuff" that goes along with it on a scale, and it was surprisingly heavy.

I have yet to see a rear or even mid engine trophy truck. Seems to me that they are nose heavy and how do they adjust? More power and more suspension travel. It seems to me that Raptor can do the same.

Wait what am I saying? We all know the nose heavy gen 1 was the better off road truck.

Ivan Stuart's TT was rear engine. In its day, it destroyed the competition. Was also IRS.

Also I'll add that TT's are practically mid engine with how far back the engines are. Weight distribution is veeery important. That said on a Raptor 80lbs won't do shit

Well, hopefully the aftermarket world embraces the 7.3L. Being an OHV and size due to OHV should help with swaps.

There was some hype on the 6.2L, being bored out possibly close to a 7.0L, make some good NA power etc...
Never happened outside of Livernois making the 6.6L and I think a custom cam for the 6.2L.

Old thread but looks like some testing of a 7.0L based on the 6.2 did happen

Everyone still looking at "rumors" of 7.3s in f150s are clowns.

Edit-also if you don't think a TT v6 is cool just because it is a v6, you're also a clown.

Doesn't seem to be the direction Ford wants to take the half-ton trucks.

Yeah but I think it would be a better option than the 5.0.

I had a XLT 16 SCrew 5.0 as a rental in SLC a while back. That thing sucked as it just constantly searched for gears. It always felt anemic at low RPMs where my 15 EB SCrew Lariat never does.

As long as my choices are the 3.5TT or 5.0, I will go 3.5TT.
