I finally got the car into the body shop an it’s getting painted. After I’m dropping it off at a performance shop to get long tube headers, h pipe, 410 gears and a tune. Just wondering is there any other bolt on mods I should buy and put on for when I have the car tuned.

A stainless steel catback and aluminum driveshaft would definitely be on the list if it was mine. And since the rear is already going to be opened, I'd also repack the differential with new carbon clutches. If the car is going to be launched hard, thats a whole other list..

Good modifications! Last year I had a Ford Torsen differential and Moser 31-Spline axles installed (love this set up), kept the 3.55 gears as I've been 12.9 on them and now do more road rallies, so 4.10s weren't on my mind. I have an aluminium drive shaft as well, among other modifications. Never had a tune.

What mods are already on yours? Shifter? Cat-Back? Any chassis/suspension upgrades?

Honestly I don’t know. I bought it because the guy thought the engine was blown. I got it last year. I got the engine fixed, the plug just blew out of the cylinder.

I put a short throw shifter on it and a jtl cold air Intake.

was told it had 373 gears but it doesn’t. It does have an x pipe. I believe I’m just going to use that instead of buying a new one if it will fit the long tube headers.

I just got the seats redone and now it’s sitting at the body shop getting body work and repainted.

I ordered some upper and lower control arms for the rear because it likes to jerk when I shift it.

Gonna have to get a new mid pipe to go with long tubes

if the car doesn’t have weld in full length subframe connectors/jacking rails they make a world of difference. The bolt in beer can rails don’t do anything

It’s probably personal preference but I prefer the X pipe sound over an H pipe. As said already, I would pick up a catback and have some full length subframe connectors welded in.

Question about rims. Should I go with 18x8 for the front and 18x9 or larger for the back. I don’t know the exact size of the rear tire right now but it has to be close to a 50

might as well 10.5 in the back, they'll clear but should probably roll the fenders to be safe (some tires run wider than others, R888R are WIDE

Agree with DSG, unless you like the looks of whatever 18.8/18x9 wheels your select. I have 18x8.5/18x10 (had to roll my fenders when the rear wheels had 295/35/18) with 245/40/18 and 285/35/18.

Is there a big difference between the 65mm and the 62mm throttle bodies. Also I was wondering if I should look at getting the 90mm Maf or would that be pointless. I’m just trying to maximize the most out of the dyno tune.

So far I have gotten the 410 gears. I’m ordering the long tube headers and x pipe.

Throttle body and bigger MAF won’t do anything
Or a CAI for that matter.
Search for c-head "na svt recipe" for a list of effective c-head (a B head recipe is also listed) na mods.

Folks are tired of my listing it.

Hell..I am tired of my listing it.

I had 10.5 deep dish with 285×17 and was fine.
18 should be fine as well.

295 is about the point you will need to roll the fenders.

But you are stick axle...so..

Come to find out the rims that were on it, according to the tire place were 17x11 and the tires on the rear were 315. I don’t think anything was rolled but idk what that means.

There are videos of fender rolling on youtube. There are fender rollers fixtures and some folks even use a baseball bat.
It is rolling the inner lip of the fender under a bit to help clear more tire in the fender well and keep the tire from being cut by the sharp edge of the inner fender.
