Man it's been a super long time out of the game . Hope all is well first of all and thank you for checking out my post. Trying to decide if a 13 or 14 cobra is worth buying. I see mixed drag times ranging from 12s to 11s stock. How reliable are they now that they are a few years old? I see the c7 z06s turning 10s stock and was thinking about possibly making the switch as It appears they have wider rear tires or can put wider tires then the shelby. I think 295 is biggest you can go? I had 315s with different rims on my 03 cobra and loved the width. Thanks guys again for replying.

‘13-14 GT500 can make 750-800rwhp reliably with good bolt ons.
You can run 315s easily.
The Z06 is nice but unless you’re adding boost it can’t match a boosted 5.8.
Completely different animals though.

I'd go C7 Z06 all day. It's more of a sports car and you can mod them to the moon if you really want to. There's much more aftermarket support I'd say and probably cheaper to get bigger power.

As much as I am a S197 fan boy and think it is the second best looking Mustang generation behind Gen1, and the 13-14 being the best looking and truly a special car, I would take a C7Z over a 13-14.

C6 zr1. Timeless design and killer power train.

I have a 13 gt500 and it's great. But I need a backseat. If no backseat. If be rocking a Vette.

The C7Z interior is way nicer than the GT500s that's for sure. Other than that the GT500 is the better car IMO. Like @biminiLX said. You can make 750 to 800whp easily and it's still a reliable street car. Plus the LT4 1.7 TVS is a joke

C7-Z IMO is a nicer design and has the better interior. I love GT-500s, but I see them all the time around here. C7-Zs? Almost never. When I do see one (or even a regular C7-Z), it gets my attention.

Around here, as in on svt? I rarely see 13-14 out. Infact, I have only seen one other in town. C7 z all the time.

In the 427R
Trinity would be my vote if the midget blower was staying on the LT4. If a blower swap was in the deal I’d go LT4.

Bingo.

Or even a bubble-wrapped, low mile c5z. I found a few for under $30k. Wow, that would be awesome.

I dont think either has a "nice" interior, but youre right... that gen corvette was better compared to the s197, no doubt.

The LT4's blower is not a good match to the rest of the motor IMO, but people are getting over 800whp on that car with a ported stock blower and supporting mods.

And dont forget there is really nothing that sounds better than a cam'd LS/LT IMO. Cam job on one of those cars is NOTHING (talking about cost and work involved) compared to upgrading cams on a 4 valve Ford.

Again if I was in the market for a C7 it would have to be a Callaway 627SC this car has the ability to keep pace with a Z06 and even over take it if there is more than 5 laps on a track. The only part is if there was some very tight turns as the wider rubber of the Z06 would have superior grip over the Z51 slimmer stuff. But then again you could also look up a 757SC Z06 Callaway same stuff except it's on the wider Z06 frame and body.

Just bought a 19 Z06 and I can say get the Z! I can’t believe I used to hate on these cars. You will forget about the GT500 pretty quick
I have a '15 and share his enthusiasm for the Z and I've owned a Terminator and two GT500's. I don't think you'll forget about the GT500 but you'll enjoy the 8speed auto and ability to take the top off the coupe. I guess I'm getting older but the exhaust on the Z is preferable to a loud GT500. It's quiet when you want it quiet and loud when you want it loud. I prefer the interior of the GT500's that I've owned and the ability to put kids in the back but if you don't have that issue then the Z is what you want. It's not as beefy at a GT and you feel that when you drive it. The Z is good at cruising speed but if you can get some open road and cruise it at 120-130 for an extended period of time its amazing. I live in a rural area so it's not a big deal here but it's so at home at those speeds you'll feel like a badass lol.
