Hey all, I'm new to this website and the cobra family so this is my first post. I bought a TERMI with 27,000 miles about a year ago. I just hit 31,000 miles and started to hear a head tick just this season. Took it to the local ford dealer who confirmed and wanted an outrageous amount of money to fix. I'm looking for advice on what to do. Should I wait until winter when its off the road to fix or should I be extremely concerned and try to get it fixed ASAP. I'm concerned that if I keep driving it that the piston may wear.

Ford quoted me 6k. They told me to drive it through the summer as it shouldn’t cause any more damage. I’m still concerned because I’ve heard stories about it burning pistons. I’d be happy with 1500 I’ll check them out and see if it’s still available. How long did you drive it before repairing?

You should be okay driving the car through the summer. Here's some MORE INFO from my Terminator FAQs that might help you with peace of mind.

I couldn't sleep at all last night with the thought of having to rebuild my engine lol. Thanks for that resource and more importantly some peace of mind!

If you are serious about finding a set of DB9 Heads for a 03/04 Cobra let me know. I can get them for you.

Ford is on some serious kool-aid for 6000$.
