Thanks for the information! What does the car pull to? I would assume that build would have no issue pulling to 6700-7K. Curious to see what it ends up making.

Is there possibility of going to a smaller pulley?

No problem! Yes it pulls through 7k, haven't done too many full street pulls since I'm still breaking in the motor. I'm expecting over 800 rwhp so we'll see. Yes there is a lot more room for boost, blower is capable of 25+ psi easy.

why the **** would you want that? no proof that it's "built right". tip: most people sell this crap because of PROBLEMS. By a stock-ish one ....do it yourself ...

I bought a car a few years ago that matches your description to a T.
Black, 43k miles, nearly pristine and makes just over 800rw on E85.
I paid right under 30k and feel it was worth it. I’ve added some things here and there but the car was built right. There were less expensive options available, but I was willing to pay more for something done correctly. If you can afford it, both $ and patience, something near perfect will come around.

Thanks for the positive words! Badass picture thanks for sharing.

Car to share any specs on the car? Turbo vs Supercharger, manual vs. auto. etc

Even 'built right' you are always rolling the dice with a high HP Cobra. but having a thorough inspection, some dyno pulls, compression/leakdown test, etc reveals a lot. Granted you may be $400-600 to do all this....but I would most absolutely when you start to zero in on a car. The other half to me is who did the work; many shops been around 20 or 30 years.

My '03 I bought built, and I have added many replacement parts since. my 04 cobra went from a stock 20K mi eaton pullied car I bought, to fully built. i had some bad luck and it was a long, problem filled 18 month process. I don't think I would be game for it again. Aside time, you can get $20-30k+ just in parts and labor quick depending what you are doing

If a car is built to a spec I like, squared away/checks out, and is available now, I wouldn't hesitate at $30-35K

Looking for opinions on what would be the expected price I'll pay for a car that matches the description below.

Coupe
Low miles - Under ~50K
Fully built and built well - Engine, trans, rear, fuel, etc
Can be built auto or manual
800rwhp+ - Through big supercharger or turbo
Colors - Open to several, only one that should bring a premium is CO, I'd honestly prefer black
Wheels - Drag setup preferred (weld for ex.) or aftermarket descent quality wheels (TF/CCW/etc)

I've always loved the 03/04 but somehow never got around to owning one. This will be a side fund car, was originally planning to go with a big power Coyote but would rather put my money to good use in business and save some going with the Cobra instead.

Thanks for the help
There is someone selling one right now with a rebuilt title and miles unknown. go check that one out you should be able to get that one for around $10k. 03/04 Cobra parts facebok Group

Thanks for sharing, I completely agree with doing the research prior to put yourself in the best position possible. Nothing is guaranteed obviously, but the risk outweighs the additional time/money/effort for me to start stock and find someone to build it.

Looks like you had a TT car now a Whipple, care to share your preference?

At the moment, probably prefer the TT car. Really depends on the mood, but love them both, and I still have both. Both are IRS ,6 speed cars.

Badass! I want a turbo car primarily for the ease of changing boost/power on the fly. Obviously all of the other benefits help LOL

I wouldn't let my car go for under $40k. There is so much money tied up in it from front to back, it's something I will just end up keeping forever. I've dumped well over $100k into this thing over the last 16 years between all the breakage, upgrades, changes etc. It's kind of like being a crack addict

Engine - $10k+
Trans - $6k
Turbo system - $10k+
Holley & related parts/sensors - $5k+
Suspension/Chassis/Wheels - $6kish?
Fuel system - $2k+
Misc $8k?

Finding a well built car where the owner has a detailed accounting of what is in the car is not easy to find. I keep a detailed list of every part/piece in my car. Not for resale purposes, just for me. Good luck on your search OP

Edit: I should add, in just the last year I have spent about $16-18k refreshing the engine, head porting, other upgraded engine parts, new turbos, updating turbo system to fit new turbos, new intercooler, wiring upgrades etc. This is a ridiculously expensive hobby lol. I can never just stand pat, always push for more.

Thanks for your input! You are a 3 standard deviation type outlier when it comes to Cobras so you're definitely a rare exception. You probably have one of the baddest (no pun intended) cobras on the entire site. I agree, never sell it LOL, would be too painful of a loss.

Looks like we've steadied out, 60% are expecting a price of 25-31 and 40% expect 31 or greater. My personal guess was 29-31K. If anyone else would like to share their opinion I'd be happy to hear it.

Thanks for all who voted/commented

I have pretty much what you're describing and I'll be listing it next week so we'll see what it goes for. Here is the short list:

2003 TR 10th Anniversary
43k miles
No accident/damage history, clean title in hand
- 5.3 boss block stroker 9.8/1 cr
- Procharger F-1A-94 w/HOB dedicated drive setup
- RPM built T56 w/McLeod RXT
- complete custom BBRC fuel system
- ethanol or pump 93 tunes (currently e85)

Built as a street car, no compromises. I'll be asking $30-31k and won't budge much, so we'll see what happens.

What the.......?!?

Lol. Damn! I'm sorry to read that!

I bet it busts off some huge number on the dyno and you have a change of heart ripping on her home! You put an enormous amount of effort into that build.

But I understand things change. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Thanks!

Good luck with your search. The right one will pop up soon enough. Just do your homework on the inspection aspect of it. I wouldn't let a grand or 2 keep you from the "one"...the good news is these cars maintain excellent value over time. I doubt you lose a penny if you sell it down the road.

Thank you! Regarding doing my homework with the inspection, is there anything I should specifically be doing? Would it be best to find a performance shop in the area of the car to look it over or have certain checks done?

Agreed!

I think every purchase, regardless of modification level...you should get a compression test no matter what. Even a bonestock car.

The more mods....the deeper the inspection should go. And the more critical it will be to find a reputable performance shop that can complete the inspection. Preferably one that has experience with these terminators and the typical system upgrades one might see. Blower/turbo, fuel system and wiring, trans/clutch, computer tune.

Jameeson's post was spot on.....$600 is not out of the question as cheap insurance so you avoid a nightmare car as nxhappy mentioned in his post. Make the wrong choice and end up with a nightmare...you could end up dropping another $20,000 just to make it right.

Completely agree with this. Definitely would be willing to get a thorough inspection done! Will have to hope the car in question is decently close to a high quality shop.
